I have a Clarisonic long before QVC ever sold and use it three times a week. I use exfoliating gloves with shower gel with every bath.

Personally I cant wait for TKMaxx and Homesense to open again. I generally get all my handcreams/soaps/hair products etc from there. I'm glad I stocked up before lockdown, as nobody thought to buy from there when all the supermarkets had their shelves stripped.

I tend to use elemis m/cream, but alternate it (when funds run out) with Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference. However, I've found the best beauty treatment for me is exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate. For me it makes a huge difference to how the cream (any cream) reacts to the skin. Every morning I also give the back of my hands a good old exfoliate scrub as I've noticed how wrinkly they're getting with the hot sun of late, and then slather on some L'occitane I've got left over from gift sets. This works a treat as well.

Finally, us ladies of a certain age, I hope you all give your lower legs a good old slather of body lotion/cream whatever, after bathing. Its something I've done ever since I saw my old mum suffer with cellulitis below her knees. Dry flaky skin can exacerbate it, so I now religiously keep my legs well moisturised as a preventative measure as much as anything else.

Is cellulitis water retention/odema? Which? Is it serious or just unsightly?

In the M&S Christmas advent calendar and a mini set earlier in the year I got from M&S is a brand I think I may have seen sometime ago on Q ‘Filorga’
I’m liking what I’ve tried would be interested in anyone else’s experience as the full sized items don’t seem too cheap in price.

I can tell you that I've heard good things about them, the 'time filler ' is meant to be good. French, so perfumed, but no honk. Decent actives. I needed something a bit more 'grease' but think it'd be great in summer. Certainly not a dud brand itms?

Oh my goodness, just read this and thought, this is me! Just ordered some Gatineau I don’t really need, but it was a good deal & I need three more stamps for a full passport before they stop them.

If you have ever suffered with cracked dry heels and they become sore and inflamed, its because bacteria has entered the split. Well, lower legs, especially in the elderly and those with varicose veins, can tend to become dry, when this happens, then like heels, if there is a crack or break in the skin then bacteria can enter, and thats when problems occur, the bacteria can enter the bloodstream, then you're battling sepsis. My mum had bad varicose veins, had really dry and flaky legs, and somehow contracted an open wound (we never did find out how), this resulted in having her legs treated and bandaged every day. She did eventually recover after many months, but this taught me a lesson on religiously keeping my legs well moisturised - and heels !

Brissles, my mother had the same issues. The skin on her legs looked as thin as tissue paper and she was always getting bumps which bruised up so badly. And the heel cracking. She also had dreadful varicose veins but had surgery for those, thank goodness. I have aqueous cream for my operation scars and use that on my heels every day. Whilst I think about it, someone recommended the Aveeno range with the navy blue top for very dry skin as something which might help me during my shingles outbreak. That meant I was left with a large tube nearly full and I might see how that works on my feet. I used it on my face when ill but it is too thick for a normal face cream and is really a body product.

I haven't resorted yet to specialist cream Maz, as I'm not suffering in the way you are with the dreaded shingles, but just use any body lotion/cream that will keep the dry skin at bay. But like you I do slap the cream on my operation scars, doesn't do to let them dry out.

Funnily enough, I also had the opposite problem with my scars as it became quite a struggle to balance not letting them dry out, but then not getting all damp and nasty! So my morning routine (and I do know it is ridiculous) means that after showering I have to use a hairdryer on them, and this was a tip from a plastics nurse, before applying the cream to keep them supple! Oh I also forgot that I do put E45 lotion on my legs at night, rather than a decent lotion which I save for my arms! What a palaver, lol.

Our Home Bargains stayed open from the start of the lockdown, so you’re nit getting mixed “home” syndrome - unless I am too.

I suppose, as they sell medicines and food that they were considered to be “essential.”
