I agree! I've had electric pepper grinders and they are a total pain. The manual ones are much better, imho.

I bought the Ideal World ones for my Mum, after 2 months the light stopped working on one of them (why a light is needed...) and the other one conked out altogether. They feel so cheap when you feel them, I guess you get what you pay for, which may be a problem with the Netto ones too.

I got a bit 18 inch tall wooden one - metal workings had it 15 years now perfect.. never gonna change. They cost a mint but last also grids a lot easy -- same as you get in pizza plases etc
