Gemporia 'Downfall'

It's a fair point, which did come to mind when I wrote this. I honestly can't remember. The purchase wasn't a Jeff shift special, it was in the 9am hour. To be fair, the web price could well have been £80, although as you suggest, that would be a hefty 'live' auction discount. Perhaps it was in a true "sale" too, I just can't remember.

I think what might be skewing my perception is the discount code embargo on it currently. All depends what these really are - a true, final price for an online shopper (another way of creating web exclusive items) or it's a "buy if you want at this price but otherwise we're holding this item" price.

I'm baffled as to what they're achieving by putting a discount code embargo on it. Surely if they've had the item in stock for almost 2 years, they'd want to get rid of it. Having stuff in stock for years just ties up money. Money that, it would appear, they've been short of for a number of years.

Even with a 50% discount code (which Gemporia don't do because they're not that generous), they'd still be making significantly more than you paid for it in the auction price.

The mind boggles. But I guess that's what happens when you have someone running the company with no business experience or business brain, that used to work in Little Chef and the Gemporia warehouse, and got the MD's job because they married into family..........

This product, "auctioned" by Angeleen this morning, somehow encapsulates everything said over the last 24 hours.

Gold tone, base metal, cheap pearls. And they still want £7.99 + £3.95 P&P

Do they really have a voice? They must be more than aware of the constant complaints. Still nothing changes!!
Maybe it's a case of as long as we have an income and / or profit, we will go on as long as possible. If we complain or try to change it, we might lose out. ??

It can only be fronted by the King of Jade himself, surely. When will they ever come to the end of the blo%%y jade? They must have container shiploads lining up full of the stuff. It really is a joke.
Yes, I know it's nothing different said, but for something so rare and rare and rare and....... they certainly can find a lot of it.

Here's another inexplicable price hike that reveals a lot more about what Gemporia is now from what it was even two years ago.

Brooch bought for £26 in auction (Love it. Zircon really are outstanding on it.) Still in stock at £80, with a discount code embargo.

Just odd. 🤷🏻‍♂️
I remember that series of jewellery. I know they do price mark ups: that's obvious. Some extreme ones, yes. But, they pride themselves on selling items at 'around' the price they were when 'they' bought them. The usual, we bought this at, and we will sell it at, even though it's x months / years later. Gosh, I'm good at repeating myself, and others.

But. IF it is still in stock two years later, why hike the price that much. All they need do is to sell it in clearance. They're always going on about clearing spaces to make room for other things.

Have you all noticed a bit of an issue with Gemporia IT lately? App and Web video streaming has been completely down since yesterday and it was on the blink last week. Given Australia seems to stream digitally to out TV, it has resulted in no broadcast. You’d think they would call in IT services over the weekend to fix it? Is UK TV broadcasting impacted also?

I am in the UK and I used to watch via the app, but the app keeps freezing. It has been a long running problem, in my experience

Hi No No I have to say I've not noticed purely and simply because I can only watch for a few minutes at a time before my blood pressure rockets. Made worse with Angline, Ellis and not forgetting D.T.

I tried to watch live on a few occasions this week using my desktop, and the link at the top which states 'Watch Live' just will not work for me. When I tried to click on the boxes underneath which gives various options they vanish.

Hem Collector has been freezing a lot online.

Also when Jeff was on last night, it took 10 minutes to bring him to air. Jeff said he'd been talking to himself for 10 minutes - but they seemed unaware that there was no output to people's TV's. Viewers were greeted with a Gemporia logo on a purple screen for those 10 minutes.

It comes across as a bit amateur.

You mean to tell me you don't like DT? I'm horrified. EVERYONE likes him ;) I tried watching his show earlier. Managed 30 mins. But really got annoyed and muted some of it. Guess what? Last year, he did a sell out Jade BD show. That came back after the BD and this year, he did a sell out Jade BD show, and yup, you probably guessed it, it came back after the BD. That's the show I attempted to watch :p

I find him infuriating full stop.
I just tuned in to see what’s on and DT is flogging pearls. It was muted as usual but he showed a printed page with a heading INVESTMENT CONSIDERATIONS . How dare they say they don’t give investment advice. As far as I’m concerned it has stopped being about the jewellery and ALL about trying to persuade the gullible that their bits and pieces on sale will make them rich. It’s really disgraceful and they shouldn’t be allowed to do it.

I'm not the only one, but I could give them investment advice: INVEST in new 'guest' presenters, or whatever DT classes himself as.

Couldn't agree more
