Why would anyone be jealous of someone that had lost so much weight (intentionally) that their previous attractive, pretty look had become hard and harsh? Far too many people I see that looked lovely have Ozempicked their way to bony, hard features and skinniness. OK you're a size 8 but take a real look in the mirror. Do you REALLY look better? It's not up to me, people can do what they want but I think it's a one way ticket to ageing faster than you need to.

I know if I get under 9st 10 or so according to hubby I look too thin.

Yes, it is dapagliflozin tablet 5mg per day. If you're not on this it might be worth asking about it. I'm on valsarten and bisoprolol as well. I've only been on the dapa for a few weeks and I can't say it's making me feel better but we'll see.

Thank you that's what I'm taking along with blood thinners. Have taken myself off the others as I had a ablation and a pacemaker fitted . So now I'm 99% dependant on the pacemaker but I do feel rough some days and very tired. So again thank you.

dapagliflozin is a horrible drug I was on it for six months and came off it the side effects were extreme in my case
. You don't lose weight on it either, but I have told my diabetic nurse never to prescribe it for me again. You don't get awful side effects to begin with it tends to be months later even a year.
Wow no one mentioned side effects, I must admit I never thought thought losing weight with it. I just feel very sluggish and tired. Hope you are feeling better now.

I agree with you but I think these are not dolled out by regular GPs probably private ones (of which there are many) and also online pharmacies. I am diabetic and have not been able to get my regular meds because of these factors, I am overweight but not obese and I take great exception to these people being pandered to. Diabetes is a life threatening condition it effects all your major organs.
Sending you a hug.❤️ I think people who think it's fine to take a life saving drug for their own vanity are despicable.

It causes severe thrush and is a known symptom, read up on it. I was on it twice then last time two years ago I said enough is enough.

Thanks for the information I will look it up. So how do you feel now you are not taking it?
I am on Rybelsus and also Metformin, have been on the latter for five years. Of all the meds I have been on since 2016 Forxiga (dapagliflozin) was by far the one with the most side effects. We are all different ofcourse!

Sorry to hear that. I wish you well.

I’m always shocked how often side effects are not mentioned when meds are prescribed…

I think it’s partly lack of time and also bc if you know about a side effect, you can sometimes almost look out for it and be waiting for it? And it stops people taking a drug which could/would help…

So you might not get any issues with it - hope not and that it helps you! 🤞

I do always scour the medication data/information sheets before I decide to take a drug and then again after I’ve been taking it for a while..

Totally unrelated to these meds but the inquest into the death of Thomas Kingston (Lady Gabriella’s husband who tragically took his own life).

It again highlighted need for medics to inform patients of the potential serious side effects of some SSRI antidepressants to increase anxiety and induce suicidal indication… 😔

Sorry am “on something”!

I am on Metformin and one called Jardiance/Empagliflozin, the latter gives me the sh*ts usually once a week. I have mentioned to GP and nurse, but they were unconcerned.

The new j a b is being made available in the Republic of Ireland starting January. Their health care is based on insurance, unless you are on very low benefits. So it will be given freely if your insurance company says yes.

Oh joy, what do I have to look forward to? Hopefully side effects won't be too bad on me. I don't have diabetes but this Dapa drug is supposed to work wonders for heart failure. We will see. Not been at all well this last week, doc thought I had covid but it's the total tiredness that's the killer. Even getting up and having a shower has been an effort. Hasn't stopped me buying nonsense though :D Got all my gifts now so I can stop worrying and spending.

I've been on it for nearly 12 months. The last 3 months with Mounjaro. What side effects did you have with Dapagliflozin?

I do know the feeling, it's very frustrating, however we all plod on it's the only thing we can do. As for Xmas shopping well..... Hope you feel better soon and enjoy the good days when you have them., Don't be silly like me I over do it then wonder why I'm exhausted for a couple of days.

In my busy shop I see a lot of fat adults who are munching Greggs sausage rolls (330 calories) or clutching a huge Mc Donalds milk shake (800 calories) sadly so are their obese children.
I know that many of them are on long term sickness benefits because of their obesity but while benefits give them more disposable income than if they were working a minimum wage job there is no incentive to change their lifestyle.
If they are offered weight loss medication will they accept it if it means that they will lose their excuse for not working, and if they do accept it how many will require tummy tucks to get rid of loose skin caused by rapid weight loss.
What ever happens it is going to cost the NHS a lot of money to treat a preventable condition.

I have explained in a previous reply. I thought Mounjaro would nit be available in .england until 2025, whereas in .scotland it has been available for well over a year?
I've never been offered mounjaro or any other ***, but, then again I don't have diabetes so I doubt I ever will. I do have heart failure and AF also I'm in lung cancer remission all diagnosed at the same time. How lucky am i? We just have to keep going don't we? Do you think you will be prescribed mounjaro in the future?
