Qurio - a socially interesting documentary!

Qurio is QVC’s forgotten dabbling in trying to get ordinary people to influence other people.
Quite frankly it’s an embarrassment to those watching and certainly those contributing to this terrible app😂🤬
I actually wonder whether any of the powers that be at QVC towers are aware of this thread. Clearly it didn't create quite the "buzz" they were they hoping for. They stopped plugging it on the main channel over a year ago. None of the members despite some being very prolific were bringing in friends and family, nor were they discussing it on any other social platform. Google "Qurio QVC" and apart a couple of old ads and a way to download the app, there's a link to this thread. It wouldn't take anyone long to see that it's a standing joke among us and if they read the highlighted bit it could've cemented their decision to get rid - It's all your fault OMS!!!!:ROFLMAO:

Is it just me that finds the phrase 'reaching out to you' from that Qurio email the height of irritating. The whole thing is written in some insincere American-ese jargon. Also, what does 'we're looking forward to evolving our enhanced and integrated QVC app experience' actually mean?
No!
Absolutely nothing! - It's tantamount to taking a child's dummy away and promising them a present to stop them crying!

I have long hated this expression. When I was office-based, I used to get marketing and recruitment people cold calling and saying they were reaching out to me. I started replying with “Reaching out?” as if I had no idea what they meant by it, which would throw them off their script for a few seconds. Mean of me, I know! The regular callers were usually “reaching out” because they hadn’t “touched base for a while”. ******s.

Top 3 moments on qurio -
1) The Bonking Dog
2) The Influencer trying to flog a £300.00 pound gadget, releasing a very professional video, but then run out of town 🤣
3) Cardboard Richard his little face will never be the same
Honourable mention to the heads up merchant for 5 minutes of fame🥲

I agree with all three but for me I would have to add "Personal message" from the new CEO!

The bonking dog gave me the first laugh, real, real laugh I had in ages.It was just the owner/ reviewer was totally unaware! Comedy Qurio gold. When you put yourself ‘out there’ you may end up in that gallery.

what happened to Erica? And of course her MIL? Maybe they have added up what they were spending on Q & realised it could be better spent.Or rather someone else thought that?

I wondered that too and about Lola too but it was clear that the latter became so fed up and disillusioned by Q that she took her custom elsewhere. I get the impression with Erica that it's exactly what you said. Hyacinth has posted some Skinsense gloop and has told us that she's had 3 parcels today which included some nail files (what more?!) and I don't remember what else but we'll probably get to see before D-day. To be fair she seemed resigned to it and not overly bothered which is a good sign really. It appears by the comments that people are going to miss her posts most of all. She sent back the dodgy hangers and received another less than perfect set in return (scuffed this time) and again she's said she'll try and "fix it" herself.
Someone commented that they may've closed Qurio because it encourages overspending and it creates negativity (or something like that) and another (guess who?) pointed to the other "toxic" forum ( I wonder who she meant?) I'm not normally one for playground *** for tat but I would consider an app that showcases shopping addiction, and overspending especially in the midst of a cost of living crisis toxic in the extreme!

I have aversion to it too; it also makes me judge the user and not want to have anything to do with them. Unreasonable I know, but I really feel strongly about it. 'Touching base' is another one which is almost as bad.

Let’s all have a minute’s silence for Qurio!
The overspending and heads-up,and give a thought for the poor postman, out in all weathers delivering crap.
Never have so few given so much entertainment to so many😂
Even Lola realised she was not valued as a regular customer.
And that was the problem a decent customer treated like s**t
Common sense eventually kicked in👍

Somehow I don't think postie will be getting any rest but on the other point - Yes! this app didn't make them look very good but then neither did the occurrences of broken stuff/used returns and items that clearly hadn't undergone any kind of quality control. What a disaster! It has been entertaining despite the serious issues involved. It needed to be closed a long time ago and I needed to stop looking at it too, but the shock value and the unintentional comedy kept me hooked!
Will I miss it? Honestly, no - but thanks for 3 years entertainment. Did it influence me to buy anything? - Yes, one item, a metal plate that fits over the base of my steam iron which means I can iron everything on the highest setting without damaging the fabric BUT I shopped around and got it £7.00 cheaper and got a couple of freebies thrown in (a bottle of stain remover and a sponge). There's still a few days left for some comedy moments - it would be great if somebody posted a spoof one to end it on a high!!

Oh Lordy Lordy, another comedy moment already. The postman's been again and this time he's brought her basically 2 packets of fruit gums for £54. Ok, they're called Collagen gummies, so she thought she'd give them a go, they're gonna have one each every morning with breakfast and I quote "it might plump our faces out" you never know!!!!!

Bargain!!!!

Saw the Gummies clip, these things take some time to have any effect if ever. She would only look at H&B if they started selling on QVC, inflated the prices and a huge P&P.There seems to be no conscious decision making, just order, order, order, no questioning.Even mentioning you could get so many for around £100, unbelievable! Think they must be lottery winners nobody could make such a good job of throwing money away without a second thought.

Probably needs help from her family,(and some medical advice)to explain all this buying stuff is not good for her health,or bank balance.
I do realise for her it’s not easy to see she has a problem, and it’s really down to herself to admit this.
That’s why QVC should have regulated the Qurio app,to stop feeding this habit of overspending.
QVC is their to sell products the presenters are not your friends, neither are the heads up merchants who encourage all the time to spend money.
If people want to find products and offers they are easy to find, without the constant pushing of others.

I had a nosey and watched her show us all the cocktails. ****star Martini, Stawberry Daiquiri, Pina Colada etc. She got to the last one - a Mojito - and called it an Emoji! Tickled me. I’ve said before that as long as she can afford it, that’s fine, but I do think she has a problem and probably enjoys buying stuff rather than actually using it.
