OK, I have finally got a steam generator iron and an. IPL hair thingy, but the Amazon website is so frustrating. As soon as the deals begin, they disappear off my ipad. I am fed up with Black Friday - nearly every website is delayed or blocked or crashing.

Mine is okay on my laptop and I saw the two iron steam generators thought it was a good deal on one, other one I didn't see how much it went for. It was M Richards and the other one, which one did you get LLE? I've missed how much the M Richards went for. I got one as a TSV back then - kept it, very easy to use.
IPL is very good too got one Panasonic half price a few years ago from Argos, I just cannot commit every two weeks and the bulbs are expensive and go quickly

Town was surprisingly ok. Busy, but just like a normal Saturday I'd say. I bought a Biba belt at half price in HoF but that's about it really. A shop assistant in John Lewis was telling us that his friend was looking at a tv in Tesco Extra early hours and got pepper sprayed by another customer!! Police turned up and I am sure it made the national news!! Seriously, what is wrong with people?!

Hi Mink, I got a philips Lumie ipl which says the bulb shouldn't need replacing and is good for 140,000 flashes - feeling a bit nervous now as my pain threshold is not great! It was a good discount with £60 off an already discounted price. Missed out on the policy steam generator on Amazon and another one at John Lewis do bought a half price Bosch one at Argos which was much better than some of their so called BF discounts. Anyway, I am pleased and have decided to stop staring at a computer screen!

The IPL doesn't hurt, may be just first coupe of flashes, it is very bright and I wear my darkest shades when I use it.
My bulb is 5000 flashes only and around £25 to replace it which I did a few times

I wanted Milk and bread at 5.45am this morning so thought I would just pop into Asda and they were in the process of covering up some T.V's and toys in black plastic ready for the big reveal at 8.00am. When they were going to let people in 2 at a time to avoid the chaos that occurred last year. I didn't go back at 8.00 for the grand unveiling but when I popped in at 3.00 it was all over and done with.
I have been spectacularly unimpressed with Q,s so called BF offerings, in fact I don't know why they bothered to make up the graphics as they are as poor as the event itself.

Just watching ITV news , people in Asda were shoved on the floor and falling over each other to get a £5 discount on a coffee maker.
Hoping MinxyKitten is okay shopping in Cardiff today.

Thanks Marina! Only just spotted this. Apart from the travel all was ok! Thank god it's only once a year though!! I drove into Cardiff and couldn't get near the car parks - it was gridlocked. So, I managed to sneak out and drove half way home to get on the park and ride! I had to wait an hour to get one back as the busses were getting filled up. This is why I don't do shopping, haha! Am very happy with my belt though, oh and I bought some tea and coffee at Whittards with 20% off. I popped into my local, small Asda around 6pm to get a few bits, and the shop assistant said it was the worse day she has ever known. Poor things.

I didn't venture out,but my son went to Westfield to get some trainers and said its the worst he's ever seen it.i don't think I would ever want anything so much I would get into a fight for it...........

As far as Q is concerned their idea of Black Friday is the same as all of their event days ....a damp squib at least what I saw of it.

You would think they would cancel P&P for the day or something special to get people to buy.

They must be doing OK without all that.

I cannot understand that safety issues were not addressed ....if somebody had shouted fire or an alarm had gone off accidently it could have been a terrible incident ....or if a real fire had broken out ..it makes me shudder at the behaviour ( I love a bargain too but ....really? ) and the danger aspects ......

Yes, I heard of a man in Milton Keynes who bought 5 TVs during the night at Tesco. No discount, no material thing is worth the undignified behaviour of some of the "people" I saw on the news.
I avoid these types of sales after an experience I had some years ago. It was around the time that Woolies was closing down. I popped in one morning because I needed a frying pan and was shocked to see the hordes of people with blank faces, on the hunt for hugely discounted items. I reached out for a frying pan on the top of a stack of about 8 and at the same time a woman grabbed the whole stack. "Mine!" She snarled at me.
I kept hold of the top frying pan and said politely "yes, but this one is mine". There then ensued a bizarre 30 seconds where this woman tried to wrestle the frying pan from me, and I could not believe my eyes when she lowered her head, bared her teeth and went to bite my hand!!!
I shoved the frying pan at her, and said "here you go, you obviously need this frying pan much more than I do," and left the store, but afterwards, I felt really shaken and tearful that something like this could happen.

It seems shoppers came to blows in our local Tesco Extra. Personally I didn`t step foot outside my front door, nor did I buy anything online. So many websites inflate prices before Black Friday and then reduce prices on the day making things look like a bargain or they remove many items off their website and simply sell off limited items at lower prices.

A few years ago I saw a similar experience in marks on Xmas eve over the last box of mince pies and vowed I would never shop on the 24th or in a mega sale, and do you know something, I don't feel overly deprived of anything.
