I know its been said many times before but this must be Ay's worst look to date. The hair is awful i assume its a Ken paves top, which makes her look like she has a mullet and the dress is like a sack on her.

She is meant to be the beauty expert but looks a right mess. I think its about time she retires and lets someone else take over.

The bags under her eyes were less prominent. Normally they look like bin bags! The dress is an ok colour but is a bit shapeless. Looks like she is wearing a maternity dress. Plus it is a similar colour to the guest and the model. I think she should get her "Dynasty style" lilac jacket out with the shoulder pads again!

Personally I think her taste in fashion on the box is generally known as 'car crash' television ! I've yet to see her look good, - I might be in my 60's but would I wear opaque tights with white shoes, or maternity frocks, or tops from the bottom of the ironing basket, er, NO.

She should know better at her age - unless of course its a permanent mid-life crisis she's in.

Where's the in-house fashion expert GC when you need him? What he doesn't know about fashion and style isn't worth knowing - he'll guide her in the right direction of dressing things up or down!!

Sorry but she annoys the daylights out of me no matter what she wears. Her voice grates on me, I find myself watching her wonky teeth when she talks and she is so outdated in everything not just her clothes. Q needs new blood and AY has had a good run but its time to move over for someone more up to date in all ways.

I used to love AY when I first 'found' QVC (in the very early years) and will admit that I always enjoyed listening to her tips and advice but she's definitely passed her sell-by-date now. She's great at advising that "this product isn't suitable for you if you're this, that or the other" but her constant talking and interrupting is now the most irritating factor of the shows she fronts. I also believe her own appearance does absolutely nothing to instil confidence in potential buyers of a lot of the products.

I wish they would take on Mandy who was the beauty expert on Ideal world for a while and has also been on Qvc as the guest for Jane packer frangrances, Shes in her 40's but looks 30 and has a great knowledge in skincare and makeup.

Oh yes, Mandy is great and has a lovely pleasant voice......definitely no screeching that's for sure. Did she leave IW out of choice or was she pushed? The latter seems hard to believe because she was a delight to watch.

I dont think she was pushed beacause after she left she foned in for a Zhush show and i doubt she would have done that had she been sacked, she would be the prefect replacement for Ay.

Better dress for the Tsv launch but still the same awful hair, does she not look in the mirror before going on air :taphead:

Think its wrong to expect QVC to get rid just because certain people think she is past sell-by-date (code for getting older). That would be reprehensible.

If you don't like AY's style and have never liked it even in the early days then fair enough. But please don't write her off because she wears what she wants to wear (even if you don't like it) or because she is above a certain age. It does not take brains to read a beauty blog or fashion magazine. However Q manage to SELL to many people (even if you may think they are misguided) because of Alison. If she stops making money then pension her off (sack would imply that she has done something wrong). But if she meets her targets then she is clearly doing something right and I suggest shut the preverbial up. I bet you couldn't beat her targets, and would probably look worse on TV.

Guess your post is aimed at me WG because I used the term "sell-by-date" but I did also comment that I enjoyed her when I first 'found' QVC. I will immediately hold my hands up and admit that I wouldn't look any better than her on TV but, at the end of the day, she's the selling point and I don't feel she's always a good advert for the products she's demonstrating.

Mandy is pretty much the same age as AY both mid 40's but if u put them side by side ud think there was a gd 10 years age gap. I dont think its anything to do with her age tbh i think shes just out of touch now days, Kathy and Julia are both much older than AY yet they manage to look half decent ......most of the time anyway.

I dont actually dislike Ay i find her very funny at times but she really needs to work on her appreance whens shes expecting people to part with there hard earned money by taking her advice.

Ageing and the appearance of ageing on you skin is largely down to genetics and health... Yes, AY has dark circles and hard to style hair BUT those things are somewhat out of her control.

As to her being "past it", why are women more inclined to judge other women as they age?

AY knows her stuff about the products and as long as her employer is happy with her sales then good for her.

Weathergirl I don't think it's so much her age. I think most people watching QVC would not be so inclined to listen to a 17 year old giving advice, it's rather more her screechy voice and aggressive, domineering manner. If I am watching QVC I don't want to be shouted at and slightly patronised. AY and Jill Franks should be got rid of. Time for some new people.
