Btw as you mentioned Maddison, can't believe it's nearly 8 years ago since he score this last minute beauty against Rangers, oh happy days. :)

 
To be fair, it was a pretty meaningless friendly coming soon after a long season. Yes, you have the issue of pride in the shirt and pride in the performance, but let's face reality...Iceland is not going to stand a chance of winning the European Championships, however well they play. Not qualifying for the tournament doesn't help their cause either. We do have a chance if we play to our capabilities.

Pity they don't sell a truth drug, then he might get the facts straight. The story changes every time he opens his mouth. A case of "to Bet or not to Bet - that is the question". (OK, I'll get my coat now.....)

The best teams always build form en route to a tournament, the guys were still playing for their country and should do thier best in a warm up game.
This was a shambles, sorry but I remember the "golden" generation of 2004-6 and how it came to nothing.

I've been hopeful since 1966!
