I paid £378 plus around £8 postage last August so it should be around that price.
I love mine and use it daily. It is a considerable amount but I do feel that I have bought the best that is around and I can afford it at the moment.

Thanks, ils, I have a Vitamix (and love it, I agree it's the best around) but a friend is interested and I wondered if the tsv would be the same model as last time or if a different model would be offered. Qvc US recently had a diff. model as a tsv and it made me wonder what would be offered in UK. Thanks again

Theres a photo in the monthly newsletter looks the same as this previous tsv to me ...

Ideal world had a similar blender on the other day by Cookshop, its less powerful than the Vitamix but they did everything the Vitamix does in the demos and its only £129.99 worth a look if your considering a Vitamix....

Many thanks Supercoolwillow and Autumn for your input, it's much appreciated how quickly you are both able to respond. Thank you.

If you type "blenders that crush ice" into the amazon search box, there are 3 there under £40. I haven't a clue how good or reliable they are, but if you're balking at the price of a Vitamix, it's maybe worth a punt. I've got the alternative one from IW, the Omniblend, £100 cheaper than Vitamix and it's excellent.

I hope so, also hoping for 3 or 4 easy pays. Saying that it is the right side of payday for once! I need something to give me the boot up the backside and get the weight coming off again and I think this might do it!

If you want to lose weight then the 5:2 diet is fantastic and you don't need an expensive blender to do it

Couldn't justify the cost of a Vitamix but am delighted with my Philips (updated Which? Best Buy) from John Lewis (better service than the QVC!). I paid just under £80:

Philips HR2096/01 Avance

Brilliant blender with glass jug and blades manage to deal with ice and linseeds without any problem. Use it every day for my green smoothies.

Thanks for that, qvc - I was trying to remember the actual Philips blender I'd read about - that's the one.

5:2 is about eating 500 calories for 2 days and then normally for 5 days. The 2 days don't even have to be consecutive days.

500 calories would be so low for me ....I'd faint ...I'd wake up and think ...oh no can't bear it :wonder::sweat: !
I'd be obsessing about food and praying for the next day to arrive ....it's great so many people have found help with it though....i just couldn't do this myself ;0)

Earlier this year I wanted to lose a bit of weight quickly for a party, so I tried the 5:2 diet for a couple of weeks after reading about it on here. I absolutely loathed it and it didn't even work - never again, though everyone is different of course. Cutting down on carbs is the best way for me to keep my weight down, works a treat and I never feel hungry.

Ditto, I haven't tried 5:2, but low carbs works for me. I try to keep under 100g of carbs a day, with loads of protein and veg, also drinking gallons of water and the weight seems to come off at a nice sensible rate. I also don't feel bloated, don't seem to suffer as many headaches or migraines and have loads of energy. Being diabetic I have never eaten a massive amount of sugar, but I have been watching my sugar intake even more recently (some very interesting hidden ones!) and I find that I am no longer craving sweet stuff as much as I used to, so it's true, the more sugar you eat the more you crave it.

I'm going to go for the Vitamix on Sunday if it's on 3 or 4 easy-pays, been wanting one for ages and as I seem to break cheaper blenders trying to much slushies and ice cream I think it will be well worth the money. Good thing is, if I don't like it or get on with it at least it can go back.

I've been examining my Vitamix jug today and i reckon it has cracks in it. No idea why it has cracked as I have not dropped it. I do occasionally use it to crush ice for cocktails. I hope the jug is covered by the 5 year guarantee. Mine is only a year old.
