I saw that Phill was now on HM. As I’ve said before only two presenters I can watch. I’ll now buy from Phill’s own website. Another thing I don’t like about this channel is that none of the programmes start on time, always 5 or 6 minutes after the hour.

I watch HobbyMaker when there is a company on whose products I like and want to see demoed , like Sizzix. The big plus is there isn’t any of Stephanie’s stuff, ex stuff, ex companies, ex demonstrators to drone on.

The craft presenters and the companies who sell on the various craft channels seem to be like a revolving door more than other shopping TV. If it is the end of C&C some smaller companies will struggle to find a platform as it is very crowded on HobbyMaker. Is there room for everyone? Phill Martin and Lisa Horton have just joined but is there room for John Next Door for example?

I’m not sure about John next door, but I think most of the other companies have online platforms to present live demonstrations. Clarity already switched their C&C shows scheduled for today to their website.. Highlight crafts have their programmes switched to their website for all of this week. Pretty sure Jamie Rodger’s has similar.

HM schedule crammed already as it’s Sewing Street in the morning and HM in the afternoon/evening.

They extended not long ago into the evening. The morning is sewing. I don’t think they will want to lose that business. I thought C&C were doing more shows with sewing latterly which did not interest me. Then there’s jewellery making too.

They must be rubbing their hands over at Hobbymaker regarding Create and Craft
i could be wrong but i would think a lot of them have friends there or work colleagues who have gone between the two. It will be good to have more choice at HM but they are limited on their hours so are limited as to what benefit it will have.A lot of the big brands on both channels seem really dated and repetitive Hunkydory, Tonic, Tattered Lace(if its still going) Red Robins(some of the images are so out of proportion they are laughable) are all churning out the same old same old and it all looks a bit dusty.

I agree with you about two red robins. Not only are the out of proportion the perspective is wrong too. It got to the stage where C&C were the Tattered Lace stable and Tonic, and HM are predominantly Crafters Companion and HunkyDory.

i caught a bit of sheila halliwell on the paper dienamics show, she has been missed, she is so enthusiastic and full of ideas.

I’ve always liked Sheila. Like Paper Dienamics products but could never take to Keith for some reason. I really don’t like HM and as I’ve said before the only presenters I like are Nigel and Zena. So if Sheila is on with one of them I might watch, any of the other bland/boring presenters No!

Keith is another one , I think, who has had several reincarnations business wise.
Keith is better known as Kanban Keith - a company which didn't pay its bills and left small business owners and crafters out of pocket when Kanban went into administration - only to rise from the ashes days later as Kanban Crafts Mk.II. And from I remember, the same thing happened.

I wouldn't trust Keith as far as I could throw him. This is his entry on Companies House:

He's been a director of no less than three companies which have become insolvent:

Aspire Crafts Ltd
Kanban Card and Paper Ltd
Kanban Crafts Ltd

It's a case of if, not when, Paper Dienamics also enters adminstration, given it's about to be struck off the register for neither filing accounts nor a confirmation statement.

With the demise of Create and Craft, Hobbymaker is the only craft channel on TV. What a shame it’s so boring and amateurish, with no character or charisma. No laughter or fun either.

yes, kanban did have a rough ride and ideal world took them over and chose to dump them.
i dont know if Keith is good, but Stephanie Weightman and her husband have had a few companies that they have allowed to go under and possibly mislead customers about branded products.
However shoppers be wise, hobbymaker dont appear to have had any issues so far.
