I hate and always have hearts on jewellery or clothes. I could say the same for crosses too.

A friend's husband had a fake ceramic skull which he had on a shelf behind the chair he always sat in. She had no idea where he got it and was so used to it, she never noticed it unless someone pointed it out to her.

Oh my, those were the days. My first "proper" perfume was Pagan for nights out dancing, and Gingham for the office. Mum always loved Evening in Paris and Granny was a Californian Poppy girl !
Oh my goodness, I was a Pagan girl too, and loved Gingham. I think my first posh perfume was Rive Gauche but for work it was usually Stevie B. My Mum wore Joy.

I got a Boots voucher for Xmas and yesterday shopping I decided that I might buy a fragrance - Very had Roberto Cavalli on offer recently and I loved the look of the bottle but some of the reviews said that it was overpowering, some said the fragrance didn't last, some said it did so too much of a risk to buy blind. I sprayed some onto one of those cards yesterday and intially I really liked it, but I thought I'd smell it a little bit later in the day to see whether I still liked it - I didn't as it dried down into an overpowering rather nauseating stench. I decided I'd just buy another bottle of Amor Amor which I know I like though it's staying power isn't great. I was shocked to find that the large bottle was £69! So I passed on that, the facial sauna with aromatherapy oils I wanted was out of stock and the 8 hour cream lip balm was £23, so I decided to look online later. I got the facial sauna, the Amor Amor was £44 for the same sized bottle and I thought sod it and I bought the lip balm too. At least with a big bottle of perfume I can spray it freely!

I've been thinking about perfumes recently and in 1981 I remember being gifted a bottle of perfume from my boyfriend's older sister. I really liked it, it came in a bottle a la Lentheric with a cobalt blue lid with gold lettering. I fancy that the name began with an A but of course I could be wrong but this is bugging me big time. I've done a thousand Google searches and it's not anything Lentheric has ever done, Yardley has come up blank and I doubt whether anyone here can help with so little to go on...but I've got to try everything as it's driving me completely nuts. Clear glass bottle with blue plastic lid cheap and bought from a drugstore I would've thought.

I used to like hearts on clothes and on jewellery, but I've gone past that now. Last year I liked stars, but not this year. I don't like animal print any more either. It's been so over done.

I can’t help. Sorry. I hope someone can.

So do I and funnily enough I know a few years ago I remembered the name of it and found pics of it online, but now I've completely forgotten. I thought it was called Accent but it turns out that there was a perfume called Accent but it definitely wasn't this one looking at the pictures. I've seriously got to get this out of my mind but you know how it is when something's bugging you! I received it early 80s but it could well be a relic from the 70's. It wasn't a famous name and was probably something that was regifted as I didn't know my fella's sister that well, it was just a token gift so I didn't feel left out, but it was actually quite a pleasant pong!

Maybe she confused it with him!

It could appear in a dream.. Maybe tonight?

My mum used to have a small bottle in her handbag, it just said Pagan on it. I used to dab it on now and then. I remember Gingham when I was a teenager.

Could it be vintage Panache or Joie De Vivre Parfum by Lentheric merryone?

Or an Avon fragrance?
It's definitely not Avon and not either of the ones you mentioned above, but if anything this fruitless search has found me some absolutely hilarious names of perfumes of the past. There was Tramp, Ambush, White Shoulders (brings dandruff to mind) Gay bird, Tombola (tin of baked beans anyone?!) Rampant and Ransom!
But hey, if anyone has any inspiration I'm all for it. I doesn't appear to be a Yardley or a Revlon either although the bottles they come in are very similar. There's a Revlon called "Rebel" - red lid, gold lettering, this one looked the same but had a blue lid and gold lettering but why can I simply not remember the name? I mean it doesn't matter it's obviously discontinued but it's been bugging the hell out of me!

Also going back to this year's Christmas gifts, one of my friends gave me a Radley umbrella and a nice note pad and pen, with little dogs on (not Radley) but very nice all the same. I was thrilled until I remembered that a few years ago I gifted this friend that very same umbrella plus a little foldaway shopping bag also Radley. She used the shopping bag daily for years until it literally fell apart and I actually bought her a similar one a few years later that she's still using. I've never seen her use the umbrella though. The umbrella she gave me this year was new with tags attached but I remembered that when I bought her the bag and brolly they were in a sale so it came in at around the budget we normally spend on another which is about £20 give or take a few quid either way. I'm now remembering that the bag was black and white but the matching brolly was full price, but a blue one with yellow flowers and Scottie dogs was in the sale so I bought her that one. The exact brolly that I received from her this year - Now it's an old design so no longer available and seriously I don't know how I feel about this. Possibly she didn't like it hence bunging it the present drawer, though there was nothing to dislike about it imo, or perhaps she didn't need it, but did she actually forget that I was the one who gave it to her in the first place? Or did she just think, what the hell, she can have it back - insulted and then some! I can help feeling a little miffed. If I'd bought her an "iffy" ornament I'd understand why it didn't hold pride of place in her home, but a lovely little umbrella to pop in your handbag (especially as I know she loves Radley stuff) is inoffensive and useful. Use it, regift it even - but not to the person who gave it to you!!!! She must've spent about a fiver on me....cheers mate!

That's an odd thing to do because what's not to like about a Radley umbrella? I've got 4 umbrellas (not Radley) because I sometimes leave them somewhere or they get damaged in very high winds, always like to have spares just in case. I can't imagine a design being so bad that you wouldn't use it! As she likes Radley it's unlikely to be that. She must have forgotten it was you who gave it to her. I can imagine you are a bit miffed, you clearly put some care into choosing something you thought would be suitable, I would feel the same.

Years ago, My late gave me the slippers that I’d given her the year before, in the same wrapping paper, which she had ironed 😳🤣
