I know QVC delivery times comes up on the forum almost as much as the excessive P&P charged for such a terribly slow service. This stems from the fact I've not been waiting almost a week for a bracelet that had a £4.95 charge. I can't work out what service they use as even second class mail is faster. Have they got a special cheap and slow deal with the post office? However, what is particularly grating now, and which I hear more and more often, is presenters saying that our orders will be delivered within "three to five days." Lies! Since when were they allowed to drop the "working days" part. And they never tell you that it's from despatch and that it usually takes two full days for the warehouse to have orders picked, packed and ready to send. I can't help but wonder if this is more ammo that could be given to the ASA? It's utterly misleading, especially if you're a new customer. QVC might not be lying outright but they're certainly being economical with the truth.

I ordered a Kipling bag on Monday. It is still in the warehouse. other internet traders would not allow this amazonian delay! the only reason I ever buy from Q these days is if it is on easy pay.

You may have seen this as I posted it elsewhere also, but I ordered a load of ABC stuff from ABC Beauty shop - free P & P as I spent a fair chunk, and the order was with me within 48 hours. I actually wrote to Q to tell them I'd watched their ABC hour then checked prices and spent my money elsewhere, gave them the breakdown and said maybe they should be charging per order and not per item (yeah, like that's going to happen!) - and also said that the order was with me in less time than it had taken them to dispatch a pair of earrings I'd ordered from their website - Royal Mail, took five days. It's just laughable.

Yes, that is absolutely right Busy Mum, I always order direct from them. I always order direct from SBC too, sometimes they have special offers on the body wash, two or three for one, regardless of size. post free. a super investment. and here before the next shower!!

They've often maintained that jewellery arrives more quickly than other items .................... so to still be waiting after a week is even more of a pathetic service from them!

Carol did you get any response from QVC? Or was the silence deafening?

oh yes Jude..wrote twice & got two replies...just telling me what I'd told them when I wrote to them basically..that orders were charged per item, that your second and subsequent items were half P & P as long as they were identical, along those lines...just to deter you from writing again I think! I told them that to buy the same goods from them would have cost me an extra £27ish, of which almost £21 would have been P & P, (gave them a breakdown of cost) and that other companies also had to factor in cost of packaging materials, labour, etc etc and if they could get an order to me within 48 hours why couldn't Q when they charged a lot more? I fully expect to be banned! To top it all I had to ring today about my Leighton Denny foot file..damn thing has been used three times and has a "bald" bit in the middle now so that's going back for a full refund!

I only buy things nowadays if I think I might need to use the MBG. Otherwise, with a bit of internet searching I can almost guarantee finding the same items at a better price and/or p&p elsewhere.

also too many items seem to be going astray now, I have had 3 in last 6 weeks, definitely puts me off ordering from them again

If people keep buying then they have no reason to change...vote with your wallet/purse and purchase elsewhere.

I don't know about other N Ireland folk but I've never received anything within a week. I wouldn't mind if we had a choice of free P&P or good delivery but we have the worst of both with Q.
It is not uncommon to take 2 weeks for a Kim top which cost a fiver Pp which is a total disgrace

Last month I ordered dirct from L Denny free PP and was here 2 days later aided by no big packaging. However I ordered the same item from Amazon last week and not here yet which is unusual but as no Pp I can accept it.

Q just take the pee with their combination of P & P charges & delivery times - granted courier delivery is not too bad (usually), but Royal Mail...it's pathetic

My Kipling bag ordered on 22nd still not here! (5 days!) it is being delivered by Hermes so tracked it, they did not receive it till 24th - and it went to their hub today I think, so might get it tomorrow or Monday. Assuming Hermes have different scales of delivery times and this is the snail one. Have really lost interest now.

I have another example to contrast against QVC's service. I needed to get hold of some arnica gel, as quickly as possible for someone. I knew how expensive QVC are and that it would take a week to deliver, so I didn't even bother with them. I went directly to a company that sells on ebay called Barclay Swann. The one litre bottle is almost £10 cheaper than QVC and, as long as you order early enough in the day, they will deliver it FREE the next day! Not only that, but DPD, who carry the parcel, will email you with a one hour time slot, so you can be ready to receive it. My parcel was due to arrive within an hour of 13.32 yesterday, and it arrived exactly on 13.32. Can't argue with that for free. If QVC could provide a service like this - which they can if others can - then they wouldn't need to cut back on presenters to save money. They would have customers beating down their doors with orders.

Moth, consider writing Q to tell them this, like I did - if enough people complain about the cost & time of their deliveries, who knows, one day things could change!

I think there is a pattern with my deliveries. Normally most things I order arrive on the sixth day, especially if it is a smaller item - a top for instance. Although yesterday I received a top (6 days) plus a larger item which only took 4 days.

If something hasn't arrived by the sixth day it has gone astray and I can still receive it up to a week later. This will normally arrive with a big red sticker saying its not addressed correctly, although my address is correct and all the information is there. Occasionally these delayed items go via Oslo and once an item arrived via Vancouver.

Once I ordered two packs of Easiyo and these were bound together with that plastic/fabric very strong tape. The address details was on one box and someone had cut the tape so I only received the one box with the address with the ends of the tape.

Personally I don't blame QVC if my items go astray or take the scenic route to get here, as once it is out of their hands they have no control. They only have the control on who they choose to transport the item. None of the items sent to me are tracked.

If I ever received anything within 5 days I would think it was my birthday! Bad and all as RM are they leave a card which I can collect. If it as courier they either throw it over the fence without leaving a card (and has been know to lie there for some days in the pouring rain!) or they leave you a card to arrange delivery between 8am and 8pm at a specific address. Now this is a real pain as I have left for work but not arrived and visa versa so I cant be in 2 places at the same time and there is no flexibility at all.

I think some (even very big) companies have embraced on line for taking orders but have not really got the actual delivery and delivery charges sorted whereas others have it all down to a fine art - they are the ones who set the bar and who will keep our custom for as long as they are above to keep up to par, the rest, I'm afraid will die a long lingering death.
