Well, to me she looks like a deflated balloon.

Oh no, Brissles! You've said something negative about the appearance of a woman. Please stop making misogynistic comments! I'm offended :(

Oh no, wait a minute....you're actually saying something that is your observation...an ultimately quite true. I'm not offended anymore!

Besides, Nik looks as dodgy as hell - kind of like Justin Hayward, but with Tipp-Ex-White gnashers a bit like a certain flaaah seller.

There are so many so-called "life coaches" out there, some of whom are probably better than others. I'm not knocking counselling and positive thought, as I believe these things can be useful and important. After all, we all have situations in life that we can't necessarily change, and things we'd like to have done differently, people we'd liked to have behaved differently, all sorts of situations, disappointments and regrets.

If people get help from counselling, so be it. Personally I try just to get on with life. When losses in my family left me totally on my own I didn't seek help from anyone, I just carried on as best I could. I'm sure that if I'd wanted to seek help, I'd likely have sought the assistance of a qualified professional rather than buying a book / DVD from two false TV therapists who look plastic-surgeried up to their eyeballs!

I might tune in when they're on, though, as I could do with a good laugh!

Oh Julius, I love Justin Hayward & I'm now going to spend the day with his songs in my head & probably warbling out of my mouth:song:

One of the most amazing singers of all time. I LOVE Nights in White Satin and Forever Autumn, but he did so much more. I've got all the Moody Blues albums. My favourites are Days Of Future Passed which featured orchestral arrangements from the London Festival Orchestra . I also liked "Strange Times which they released in the early 2000s.

It may be Wednesday morning but in my head it's Tuesday afternoon. There are times I find your opinions just too acerbic but on this I totally agree. Mr T & I met at college, the first time I saw him Nights in White Satin was being played & we both said "I love this song", forty two years later we're still together. I wonder what the Speakies would make of that, maybe they could include a 'bonding over music is empowering' or some such in their next book.

Congratulations, Twilight! 42 years is amazing. I don't think I've even managed 42 weeks :(

Nights In White Satin is amazing. My only claim to fame is that I used to live in Cleveland Square, Bayswater, in the neighbouring flat to where Justin Hayward wrote that song! I think they should have put a blue plaque there (for JH not for me!).

Course you did :mysmilie_496: I find that odd that a so called "worldly man" and "journalist" (yours words) that this is your only claim to fame, I've had loads and I dont even move in journalistic circles. Mind you though Julius, if someone's been to Tenerife, you've been to Elevenerife. :mysmilie_17:

I actually did live there. 47 - 55 are / were studio flats - many of them tiny. They are owned by a company called Compatriot Holdings, and back in the day weren't too expensive. For all people thought it was a classy area, it actually wasn't at all. There were problems with all sorts of pests and inappropriate activity in the square and nearby Leinster / Bessborough Gardens. The place was full of hostels and transients, and had a weird vibe to it. I preferred living in Acton, I must say.

You're so lovely, thank you :flower: Rest assured he's not THE Mr T, just the most decent, generous & kind man I've ever known. He's my best friend & I know I'm very lucky.

Aw thanks T so are you, yes I'm also very lucky, we've been man/wife, best friends and soul mates for 32 years, so yes we both won that lottery by the looks of it. :mysmilie_508: :mysmilie_3:

Taken from Wilkepedia,....." The Speakmans use 'schema conditioning psychotherapy".......... well, that sounds a bit Tom Cruise Scientology to me.

It also says ......" Noted celebrity clients of the Speakmans have included Peter Andre, Kerry Katona, Kym Marsh, Liz McClarnon, Katie Price, Holly Willoughby and Jeremy Kyle " ...... well, a that lot are a real classy bunch!

And again ........."The Speakmans have diplomas in an unspecified subject from Newcastle University,[3] but are not accredited psychotherapists. " ....... well, I for one wouldn't give my hard earned to someone who has a diploma in what ? window cleaning/cake decorating to give me advice on how to live my life.

Sounds like the "This Morning Family" all on one couch together.

I'm very skeptical. I've watched their "miracle" transformations on This Morning and simply don't understand how they have perfect results in an hour or so. I've been through a few nasty experiences (and a few similar experiences to some of their clients) throughout my life and even extensive specialist counselling hasn't helped me. I've just had to get up and get on. Time has been the greatest healer for me - a lot of it - so and hour of psycho-babble? I don't think so.

Plus they put me right off just looking at them.

Its the eyes. Scary. Lots of the women news presenters on Sky have a similar look, including Bay Kurley. Like a family of Chukki dolls.

Just had our 49th Wedding Anniversary. We met just before the 1966 World Cup. He had a motorbike, along with his mates and we had many a great evening out in the summer going into the Peak District for a ride. :mysmilie_480:

Next year will be the big one! Shame England didn't win the last world cup - but at least you're still together. Fantastic achievement in this era of quick divorce / separation.

Congratulations Lemon, did you look like Cathy McGowan? The 60s were wonderful, the music, cars, fashion - I heard a Q 'ambassador' talk about a print being retro & mentioned Twiggy & Mary Quant & Chuntley came back with "Yes, the 70s were great" I ask you.
