It did seem a very strange comment. As I said earlier, I thought I heard him say that but then felt I must’ve misheard what he said. A busy shopping channel selling well would be very unlikely to have their production staff even regularly checking a forum in their work capacity. They would be too busy producing the presentations. And let alone sanction a presenter comment to directly upon one live on-air. It’s the sort of aside you would make if you thought only a handful of people were ‘in the room’ with you, which probably isn’t too far from the truth.

Do they ever take a moment and think about why they would say that? Presumably, because the Forum contradicts virtually everything they say during their shows. Don’t read this forum because it regularly questions the validity of unsourced price comparisons. And don’t read it because when they misinform in general it is highlighted here. Is that why he said it?

If someone told me that, I’d immediately go and find the forum he was referring to. Wonder if we’ll get new members on here because of Torchy mentioning it?

Battiola, you took the words out of my mouth, I was literally just going to say that! I wonder whether he said "please don't look at this forum cos the members go into great details of where we are utter shysters and you might not ever trust us again even though we are you're friends"

And I didn't know what one D ten 10 referred to. Then I googled it - 1d10T . I can't stand all the buzzwords like Blue Sky Thinking which was popular a few years ago.

Clueless is an understatement, there was soooooooooo much wrong with his Heritor watch presentation it was unbelievable, especially for someone, who not only claims to "never lie to you" but also knowledgeable about watches as he loves watches owns a few.
It was one of those WTF watch shows.

In his first half Hour of his shift last night. I can’t remember what he said word by word but it was something like. I feel so lucky to be working at the company, and you know I’d never lie to u, otherwise, we wouldn’t sell anything, It is you guys who make the channel what is, then he said.

e.g. person buying product x for £89.99 and thinking (cause they're told so) that it's an amazing world beating bargain ... not realising product x can be had elsewhere for £59.99 or less!

We had an officer manager once who was all into these buzz words and phrases. Plus abbreviations. During our monthly meetings she spout all that crap. She knew I thought it was a load of rowlocks and would pick on me to give out the mission statement. I genuinely never remembered it. My answer was always “World Domination”

When she kept on talking in abbreviations, I’d reply in internationally recognised ones.
I often threw in a “one D ten T”. She was really pissed off when she found out what it meant.

I laughed out loud in a meeting once when a colleague said 'we're going to sunset that for now ...'

I followed up with 'when are we going to sunrise it again?'

Didn't get into bother as we all knew each other well enough, however sometimes you need to sit there with a straight face e.g. if it's a senior manager spouting that sort of stuff.

Torchy doing Heritor watches for £199.99.
He says they are made with a Heritor designed movement and 23 jewels.
He shows the back of the watch and you can see it says 24 jewels and NH35R.
He also says many Swiss watches in the thousands only have 11 jewels.
What a bunch of conmen those Swiss watch makers must be!

Yeah, bet Seiko are glad that Heritor designed their NH range of movements for them.

I think his bullsh*t about the movement was partly Heritor's fault and his own ignorance. Heritor list the movement as the 22 jeweled 2560 movement on their web site. Of course Janice read that as meaning not only did it have 22 jewels but also had 2560 parts in the movement.
His ignorance also showed during his claim of Swiss watches costing thousands having less jewels, which is correct, but failed to mention that's because they are different types of movements that require less jewels, ie automatic needs more than mechanical, he also failed to mention that Jewel count isn't indicative of quality, heck you can get cheap low quality Chinese movements with high jewel counts, more jewels doesn't mean more quality.

But they do lie and on a regular basis.

In what way? Pricing for one.

How often do we hear them say 'wow, market beating price, grab it now!' and a quick Google shows the product can be had cheaper elsewhere, sometimes significantly so.

If that's not lying, what is it? Stretching the truth?

Or saying 'world first exclusive' and again a quick Google shows other retailers selling it.

Like Mason, exhibits a level of arrogance where I think he actually believes the crap that comes out of his own mouth.

In a workplace when you get to a certain age, you’ve gone through numerous “fads” spouted by managers. After a time they do a full circle and you start again. When I started work in the late 60s we didn’t have any of that codswallop, just went in and did your job and got paid at the end of the week. The only mission that might be mentioned would be Mission Control Centre in Houston or Space Odyssey by David Bowie!
