Surely a defective item is covered by the sale of goods act 2015.

It’s covered by their own 6 month guarantee. You don’t need the return slip either to my knowledge. Go to my collection and look up the details and put them in package with it. you could say in your review that you’re sending it back. They can’t refuse to refund you for price plus your return postage.
