Aww Janie, I'm so sorry to hear he had to go to the specialist afterall. If they perform any of those procedures will he be back to normal? You must be missing him terribly, again. Wish I could give you one of mine to keep you company while you wait! Hugs Xx

From mobile, please excuse any silly errors!! :)

it depends what they find. the vet said although the scan didn't show a big tumour, it could still be something like diffuse lymphoma. if so, i don't know but i assume he would be put to sleep :(:(:(:( he said it could be something like cat chrohns. is impossible to say without biopsies.

Let's hope it's something treatable. Think positive Janie. He's a little fighter by the sounds of it!

the specialist vet is a real prophet of doom capirossi. he doesn't say anything without immediately saying 'that doesn't mean....' or 'it could still be....'. regular vet is a sweetheart and rang twice today to say 'don't give up hope'.

Aw janie, this is a horrible time for both you & Louis.
I think we've all got our fingers crossed.

The fact that your vet is saying that sounds positive to me. If he knew the chances were slim surely he wouldn't be encouraging you? They have to be pretty matter of fact don't they? Just like human Doctors! I agree Min, everyone has their fingers crossed. Wish there was something we could do to help though.

Oh Janie, my heart sank when I read of poor little Louis's latest setback. Like min, I've got everything crossed for you here and can imagine how helpless you must be feeling. As capirossi said, he sounds like a little fighter. My dear old puss Callum defied a pessimistic vet and lived perfectly happily for five years after being diagnosed with chronic nephritis and an enlarged liver. Come on little man, you can do it.:heart::heart:

today's nurse report is that louis has been a very naughty boy. he refused to have an elizabethan collar, pulled his iv out and has attacked everyone. she also said when they shaved his tummy, it was covered in scars from fighting. she then said 'he's a real character, i LIKE him' ;)

the vet report was as gloomy as ever. he is thinking he has pancreatitits, although my vet got a negative reult for that test, as the pancreas is abnormal on ultrasound. he still thinks he has other problems though and when asked, his gut feeling is he will be operating on monday. the plan is to bring him home tomorrow for the weekend and probably take him back monday or sooner if he becomes distressed. it is a living nightmare.

Louis causing havoc, I love it!!!

He's not giving in at all Janie ;)

Hope the weekend goes smoothly and then you can finally get some peace of mind and answers from Monday. The new vet does sound very pessimistic, I want to slap his miserable face!!!

Thinking of you both Xx

LOL! as i said to james, the reg vet, i do understand david, specialist vet is just being 100% honest. if he thinks there's something grim going on, there's no point in sugar coating it.

It certainly sounds as if Louis is ready to keep fighting Janie. I hope the weekend passes without dramas for you and that Monday will bring good news. Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed. Not sure what I've said to offend Tinkerbell.

You couldn't offend anyone Mam.
You're a lovely person!

louis report day 20. i was up early dressed and excited, ready to roll, pacing the floor waiting for the vet to call but unfortunately louis wasn't well enough to come home today :( i spoke to his nurse late afternoon and she said he's more settled and more friendly - has even been rolling on his back going cute. that was music to my ears cos if he's feeling bad he just sits hunched. i made the vet promise she'd give him antiemetic and pain relief if he appears uncomfortable, not to wait for him to vomit. i know it's only treating the symptoms not the cause but the symptoms is all louis knows.

mam - i bet tink clicked the wrong thingy.

Are you able to visit while he's there Janie? Seeing him asking for a belly rub would bring a little joy to your heart I bet!

i discussed it with the vet capirossi and we both agreed he'd probably think 'oh good, it's mama! i'm going home!' so decided it was best to just leave him to flirt with the nurses :( he's not asking for belly rubs btw - he'd have mine and anyone else's hand off - he just knows he looks really cute when he squirms on his back ;)

edit to add - she said she would give him a head rub from me :) he's a real head butter - i have to rub the top of his head as hard as i can. lol

day 22 - sweet louis has today undergone an endoscopy, liver biopsy, stomach, duodenum and intestine biopsy, chest xray, dental exam and another feeding tube inserted. phew! he's currently sleeping it off. paws crossed please for the results on wednesday.

Aww poor Louis. He certainly deserves to be sleeping all that off bless him. Glad you haven't got too long to wait for the results. All 12 appendages crossed, furry and non-furry :D
