Just caught a bit of Chuntley, encouraging us to all buy a three piece elemis set at just under £70, now saying you may want to buy if for a friend, why not indeed? And referred to it as a palentines day gift, where does she get such tripe from, I cant think of any of my friends who I would spend that amount on even for a special birthday let alone a present just for it being a sort of valentines but not present, there are no limits to the rubbish she comes out with to get a sale!

We all know that they leave their morals at the door when they come into to work but do they also leave what little common sense they have out there too.

Stinks of desparation - how could anyone come out with that at the best of times never mind at present. Despite the assurances they dont have sales targets the like of this confirms that as a load of Who Shot John.

70 QUID on a mate ???? C on a bike, I rarely spend that amount on any member of my family ! I sit and baulk when they suggest half that amount for friends. I don't know, maybe its my group of friends, but we're all in the same boat financially, and none of us would consider spending anything over 12 -15 whether its Christmas or birthday. Perhaps we're just savvy shoppers but we always end up with something 'nice'.

So maybe London based salaries consider £35+ a normal amount for their mates.

Now they're talking about bedding at £60 as a house warming gift ! They'll get a bag of bulbs for the garden from me !

Maybe Scottie Boy is dragging his feet on shelling out on a sparkler so she had to depend on her very very best PAL Yankee Boy so the stupid bint thinks we are all giving friends (with benefits?) bags of overpriced gloop.

Just to clarify the etiquette of these things for those like myself who are socially unaware, does one buy one to each and every pal or do you just pick out one and what do you say when they all find out that Doris is “the special one”.

I recently received a free goodie bag from Creightons with my order and in the goodie bag was a tub of floral bath salts as well as other items. We no longer have a bath in the house, only showers so I gave the bath salts to the little girls next door , they`re 6 and 8. Yesterday the youngest girl came dashing to me and said "smell me , I smell bootiful, I`ve just had a baff in those smelly things you gave us". Her Mother then informed me the little one had tipped the whole tub in the bath. Now THAT was a gift which cost me nothing and one which will just keep on giving because it will take a week for the smell of a whole tub of perfumed bath salts to fade !

Vienna what were you thinking - surely you gave the mother a kitchen aid as well or the father a Samsung TV.
Their 2 little girls and their baby boy are adorable but sadly both parents are a waste of space. She wouldn`t know what to do with a kitchen aid and he`d flog the telly for a dozen cans and a few spliffs. Both are a great example of why some people shouldn`t be allowed to have kids.

Was it an "anti aging" set? If so that makes it wrong on another level. Give a friend anti wrinkle/anti aging stuff and that message that comes with that is "You're not looking your best, and you need some help" - It's just not the done thing. Palentine's day is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard - There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying a mate a little pressie "just because" but there's no need to do it on a specific date, or spend inappropriate amounts of money!

Oh yes can’t you just see saccharin Cate giving her mate an anti wrinkle set with a snide comment - ”just joking” Sweet to the face whilst ramming the knife in the back.

You have to remember the huge salaries they earn, so w en if she was serious maybe she would spend that on a gift. I never spend more than £20 on my friends, and then only at Christmas!

The set consisted of the marine energising cleanser, marine cream and the bliss capsules, that they are really pushing at the mo. None of my friends or family have any awareness of how much elemis costs, and most would be horrified if they knew I had spent that amount on them, they would be more than happy with a set from somewhere like M&S, Boots etc

Palentine's Day, or Galentine's Day if it's just for females, has been around for about five years - I can remember students at school planning a party for the February half term holiday. It's celebrated on the 13th & in my humble opinion it sums up the quagmire of 21st century life.

It's a Girls Night In or Out - bowling, pizza, karaoke etc or the same for a mixed group - I can't see many men doing this. Damp squib this year unless people are stupid enough to arrange something at home & have to fork out even more paying a fine.
