I do wonder if they will curb their enthusiasm for easy pay now, as companies who offer this such as klarna, clear pay etc have come under the spotlight this week after some criticism re debt issues
When Easy Pay was first introduced it was used sparingly, maybe a couple of items in an hour, then it gathered momentum & now the homepage has the banner that everything's available in 3 payments. The Q knows that many now won't be able to buy as much so the never-never is probably a permanent fixture.

Did anyone read the story of the woman who lost £500,000 on online gambling. I think It started with online bingo and scratch cards and escalated from there. At one time she was signed up to 9 different platforms and only 1 casually asked if she was in control.

Although easy pays aren’t quite in the same league it doesn’t take much to rack them up and then something else is put on the long finger and then it can get out of hand.

Yes, it must have been horrendous for her partner & the fact that she was a financial adviser made it even worse.

I see the government is cracking on the Clearpay Klarna type buy now pay later as so many getting into debt and cannot afford to pay when the time comes. Which made me think of easy pay, oh that is okay on 3 easy pay then they buy more and more and suddenly the easy pays are very expensive.
I am a great fan of easy pay, given my high returns record! I always check they don't take the payments after I have returned.

That said - thanks to you lot, I am very careful about my purchases. As said in a previous thread, I wont hesitate in sending stuff back. They make it hard to return, but I never let that get to me

Just caught a bit of Chuntley, encouraging us to all buy a three piece elemis set at just under £70, now saying you may want to buy if for a friend, why not indeed? And referred to it as a palentines day gift, where does she get such tripe from, I cant think of any of my friends who I would spend that amount on even for a special birthday let alone a present just for it being a sort of valentines but not present, there are no limits to the rubbish she comes out with to get a sale!

My my my, what ever next, a “Girthday” present for that special Scottish man in her life, a “Banniversary” present when she’s reached that first argument milestone and not ready to let you back in yet, and finally a “Blank You” present, because after all, she really doesn’t give a toss if her bestie, or anyone else for that matter has fed her cats, or heaped all that adoration on her that she lives for, if she’s doesn’t get it, she’ll “Blank You”. 😂

I misread the title and thought "I didn't know Q did an event to mark Palestine". I think that would be less stupid than what Q are trying to get us to fall for.
Valentine's Day will be very different this year. It will be more difficult to get suckered into the commercialism, I hope, this year. Lots of couples are apart. Some have been forced together and realise their relationship isn't strong enough to survive ...others have seen their relationships strengthen beyond what they thought beautiful.
What I would say is that the isolation of lockdown is a timely reminder not to save expressing your love for a specific date. Tell and show your loved ones how you feel at any time. Tomorrow never comes, and tomorrow becoming today is far from assured. I know this is not news to any of you...we are often talking about our ways of saying I love you I value you, you are special to me to our flesh and blood, SOs and friends. Don't stop, and let's not pander to idiotic suggestions to boost sales!
