Went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and a lady was waiting for her antibiotics.
The pharmacist did ask if the GP had told her not to take statins when she was taking antibiotics.
Now I wasn't told this when I picked up my antibiotics in May for my chest infection.
The pharmacist today wasn't the same one as in May but he was the same one who asked me if the GP/asthma nurse had told me to rinse my mouth after taking my inhaler.

Yes GP told hubby not to use Ibuprofen and I can't take it as I have asthma
I think quite a few here will have read my moans about our local GPs. Enough said when I was taken off co-codamol (which worked without side effects for me) and put on ibuprofen as, apparently, too many people abuse codeine.

I was already on the PPI for stomach problems and have asthma. I had to point this out at the time but was told to take it or leave it.

Mr. AE only has to sit down in front of a doctor to be offered an opiate painkiller - and that's for when he goes to get his bus licence renewed!

Yep, the sex pain gap at work.

My asthma nurse told me to gargle AND then rinse after taking my pump when I first had it off her. I always have but my friend was never given this advice and ended up having bouts of thrush in her mouth and throat. It was only when I told her that she started doing it and she hasn't had a bout since. That advice is for the steroid preventers rather than the blue relievers.

Years ago the computers in our surgery always used to ding if a new drug was being prescribed that shouldn't be prescribed alongside the drugs a patient was already on. I remember my lovely old GP explaining it to me after apologising about all the dings when he was trying something else. I'm convinced they still do but the GPs turn the volume down as it blomps at spelling mistakes.

I cannot take them as I have asthma and for some reason they gave me cramps in the stomach.

Are you on a PPI or other stomach acid medication?

I get pains in two areas of my abdomen after I take a few. I was told by the gastroenterologist this may mean I have a "smouldering" ulcer (or two in the two areas) but taking omeprazole and avoiding non-steroidal anti-inflammatories will stop them getting worse.

It depends on which antibiotics you were prescribed, they don't all interact with statins.
