I’ve not had a health check since the pandemic started, but our doctors are doing face to face appointments when required.Ours hasn't unlocked the door yet...
I have great faith in our vet. A couple of weeks ago we were at a party where the majority of the guests were medics & I talked to a retired pathologist who agreed with my jaundiced view. He said that if he thought he was really ill he'd consult his vet because a veterinary student's first two years training is spent with medical students but they don't have the arrogance of doctors. We've lost three people, including my brother in law, due to NHS negligence, know of two who died last year when life saving surgeries were cancelled & a former customer of my husband lost her leg when the district nurse service was suspended then A&E turned her away because she was being dealt with in the community. The appalling treatment I received when our baby died resulted in us making a formal complaint that went as high as things did back in 1983.
Thank you PennyI wanted to put an angry face as the facts of your post made me angry. But I didn't want you to even think I was angry with you. I'm not angry with you but very very angry for you.
I have bad experience with NHS staff and diagnosis. Some NHS staff are great but unfortunately lots of bad ones.
Sending you hugs T. X
I wish my vet could be my GP.Last year a woman was taken ill in our village, collapsed on the pavement. The ambulance took ages to arrive, and in the meantime our vet saw to her. BP, pulse, airways etc. Blankets to keep her warm.
My mom had MDS, which the literature they give you, mentions CML and others, I think they are similar but obviously not the same. My mother got MDS from having a rare cancer Waldenstrom, which they believe is genetic, as it’s rare we had to research from America. Her brother had it too, and maybe another, but from the MDS she eventually developed AML, which is the quickest and most deadly of these types of cancers, and that was rapid to say the least . I hope that isn’t the same with Julia’s CML
Blood cancers are not pretty, my mom was black at times, even the drs and nurses used to turn there heads and gasp. So I wish her all the best for the future.
Yes, it is.She must have been treated privately for it to have been done so swiftly. I wonder if health insurance is part of the remuneration package for QVC presenters
I am so sorry, poor lady that sounds absolutely awful. My mom had MDS, which the literature they give you, mentions CML and others, I think they are similar but obviously not the same. Our prescription service has a backlog...wthOurs hasn't unlocked the door yet...
That's the same as ours, the only practice for the town & totally useless. I'm so sorry that they haven't arranged your x-ray, that warrants an official complaint.Ours still isn’t doing face to face appointments & all doors are locked. You ring for an appointment & are lucky if you’re less than twentieth in the queue to be answered (often it just cuts out ) then if lucky you may get a phone appointment for several days later, mostly you’re told to phone 111. It’s been dreadful. Not as if it’s a busy city practice, it’s a tiny village one in an old terraced cottage.
Personally, I’ve twice been told they referring me for an X-ray after tripping & falling down concrete steps last May, couldn’t move for nearly an hour & nobody around to help me up. Been in pain ever since but still no X-ray appointment come through, they hadn’t passed the referral on. They just sent all patients to a centre for COVID jabs
