Given that presenters will only be paid for the days that they are scheduled to work I see absolutely no reason why not to employ Victoria or anybody else for that matter on an extremely part time basis if that helps cover shifts that another presenter would rather not work. Lyndsey Vickers for example seems to be working about one show a quarter for Jewellery Maker and I suspect Victoria will appear much more frequently than that. They've done some VT's advertising her as 'being back' so who knows. She never used to do many shifts before she left, so it's surprising that they'd take someone back on that can't commit to much time.
As for Kate, she's definitely back on afternoons. She confirmed it again on air earlier. So it's Kate and Steph in the afternoons going forward.
Victoria Norris has only ever presented the 3-7pm slot and as you say seems to only want extremely part time work. Kate McCarthy has not worked Mondays for over a year and also seems to take another day or two off each fortnight and is now in the 3-7pm slot. Maybe I’m wrong but I suspect that if Victoria is back more long term it is to cover Kate on Mondays and occasionally on other days rather than be part of any rotation on mornings.
I think the interesting time will be over Xmas where Hattie often presented much more than their fair share of shifts in order to give those with kids more time off (Hattie would regularly do 8 of the 12 hours of live output on the bigger days) given that there are now extremely few if any presenters without children.
