They keep saying it's a perfect gift. Well unless specifically asked for I wouldn't like to be given stuff to salvage some bit of me, in particular my hair.

i agree it's like somebody buying you anti aging cream for a present. Nice thought but what are they trying to tell you.

:
My sister in law bought me cellulite cream one birthday... :giggle:

Oh dear. what would ever make someone think that was a good present to give. :thinking2:
If it wasn't so expensive I'd buy her a pot of melatogenine if i was you.

I buy her kids the noisiest messiest toys I can find!

Passive aggressive gift giving? Oh yeah - we can do that! :D

I'm thinking a heavily padded bra and some betty dye to cover the greys this year, but you guys have come up with such fab ideas that she may well get a hamper of goodies this Christmas! :giggle:

A mirror and a couple of self-help books, maybe? :giggle:

I got a lovely body cream set off me mother in law a couple of years ago....................... "Mum to be" body cream!!!

I was NOT pregnant and have no plans on getting pregnant ever again!! :thinking2:

Lol! It's like they're saying "You're a bit of a wreck so I bought you this"

Yes that's pretty much how I felt about the cellulite cream! :D

Great hamper suggestions ladies! I just recounted them to my Mum over the phone and she really enjoyed the ideas! (SIL gets my Mum lavender bath salts and really unattractive and cheap looking cardigans in old lady beige when she's more of a L'occitane and Monsoon in red and purple kind of lady - and she's only 62!)

Love A'Kin - that's exactly what happens to me with the A'kin shampoos - they make my hair light and swingy, but I'm never really confident until I've done a 2nd wash, as it is a very low foaming shampoo anyway.

Have you checked out Tesco for the Louise Galvin? In my local one they were selling 200ml (I think) sizes of her shampoos/conditioners for about £4ish each. I haven't tried them yet though as I've now got a stash of L'Occitane to use alongside the remnants of my A'kin and am saving up for Mchael DiCesare coming back too:happy:

Cheers sweetie pie. I know she has a new Diffusion range out and I need to do a big ole supermarket shop this week so Tesco will do as well as any other!

PS I'm glad it's not just me with the low foaming A'kin. I felt a bit of a failure.

PPS Do we know when the flippin' heck Michael Di C is going to be on air? I get bored looking forward to things if they take too blummen long to materialise! :D

As long as you're just looking LA.:tongue2:

I have been using a MOP shampoo and thought the same thing. I wonder if this is something that has to do with the fact that these products have no chemicals in them? I seem to remember that the Green Beauty Bible explained that the results for shower products were generally a little low because testers were disappointed with the low levels of lather with the natural products. They explained that the lather in normal shower gels is produced by the chemicals that are absent in the greener versions, hence the complaint of too little foam. I wonder if it works in the same way for shampoos?

Yeah, I believe that "natural" shampoos are notorious for this - but out of MOP, Louise Galvin and A'kin the A'kin has definitely been the lowest foamer for me. It's fine on the second shampoo but then I feel like I'm getting through so much of it that I feel wasteful. It's the only A'kin product I've ever been on the fence about! Usually it's  at first sight! I keep lurking around the Clearance section looking at the Louise Galvin sets but I shall give the Tesco Louise Galvin ago next I think. (after perusing the ingredients lits of course!)

Love A'kin, I struggled a bit with low foaming shampoos when I stopped using those with Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. I've now discovered that these really require two washes. The first one cuts through whatever is on the hair, but doesn't really foam. The second one foams. The way I see it, I'd rather do that than have just one lather with a cheap detergent that's going to strip away my expensive dye job!

PS - Have you tried the Naked range in B88ts? That's pretty good and reasonably priced.
