Yeah, I believe that "natural" shampoos are notorious for this - but out of MOP, Louise Galvin and A'kin the A'kin has definitely been the lowest foamer for me. It's fine on the second shampoo but then I feel like I'm getting through so much of it that I feel wasteful. It's the only A'kin product I've ever been on the fence about!

Hmmm ... Seems to foam up just fine for me but then I do use a good 10p sized blob. Maybe it depends on if you are in a hard or soft water area as well?

Love A'kin, I struggled a bit with low foaming shampoos when I stopped using those with Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. I've now discovered that these really require two washes. The first one cuts through whatever is on the hair, but doesn't really foam. The second one foams. The way I see it, I'd rather do that than have just one lather with a cheap detergent that's going to strip away my expensive dye job!

PS - Have you tried the Naked range in B88ts? That's pretty good and reasonably priced.

Ooh I always forget about Naked cos every time I spot them I'm always on a no beauty spending kick! they are a definite contender for my next haircare range! :D

PS You're right about the colour. I had no idea that I was stripping away all my expensive dye jobs with the shampoos I used. Having never used cheap haircare I thought I was looking after my hair. I even used to use colour protecting formula sometimes - with Sodium Lauryl Sulphate in them too.:mad:

Ooh I tell a lie! I used Fructis for about a week once until the irritation it caused opened up a huge weeping sore down the back of my neck and over my shoulder blades. Scariest thing ever.

Yeah I think so. It was better in the hotel for the wedding we went to recently than it is at home and I put that down to our horrible hard water at home.

Eeeeeeeeeeeek, LA, that sounds awful! A hairdresser who I used to go to once told me that if I used Pantene, Fructis, Head and Shoulders or that Organics range (which wasn't at all, crammed full of all sorts of carp) that she wouldn't be able to colour my hair because of all the nasty stuff in it that coated the scalp and hair shaft!

I can recommend Naked as a good alternative range - their Detox Shampoo and Conditioner is lovely as are their hair treatments. I always use them for a week or so before I have a colour put on.

PS - Think Michael DiCesare is on 22nd November on Beauty Day...
