Hello Toril, I swore not to come on here again...but I wanted to send you my very best wishes for your knee replacement. I had mine done 6 months ago. A couple of points.... do keep up with the exercises, I did but know of someone who did not and their knee never healed properly. Secondly, I would advise you to stay away from the Bodyblade for several more weeks. I investigated how the muscles are activated, and in a standing position you will be probably activating the thigh muscles, which end in the knee. Up to you, but I wasn't going to risk vibrating my replacement dozens of times a minute! I worked out it was probably all right to do it sitting down so the contractions don't travel down that far. My suggestion, since there was not any advice on QVC the last time I looked, is that you only use the Bodyblade sitting down, you can get a good arm workout, but do not use it in a standing position for some weeks yet.

Hello Toril, i sent you a reply but must have pressed the wrong button, as it has ended up several posts further on.

I thought that is was alleged JR won it but was not sure.
Don't know why people keep reading the thread if they find it boring?

Reading it hoping to find it becomes interesting again! As I said it started out very interesting and I really enjoyed Vienna's contribution. I just think it's lost it's way a bit. If we are all entitled to an opinion then so am I. I have enjoyed the thread to a point but it got boring.Who knows maybe it will pick up again.

CROWNGATE

QVC commissioned a replica of the State Crown, using diamoneeks.

They said it cost £2500.

I watched the whole BCC stuff, waiting for the auction, as I would have bid.

It was never mentioned, until they announced it had been sold for only £1000.

I would have bid more than that, given the chance.

Rumours later said that "everyone's favourite" Dennis Basso had bought it !

I remember that they kept saying it was worth many thousands (doubted the amount myself) but the price didn't seem to get off the ground. I know I was amazed when I heard about £1000 as they hyped the value at much higher.

It was the start of the rot, ethical wise, which has just got worse IMO

I never said you were not entitled to an opinion? Anyway happy reading I hope the thread picks up for you.

Dennis Basso, the gleaming white-gnashered, growling queen of fake bought the crown, eh! Surprised queen of kitsch Simon Wilson didn't put a bid in. He could have kitched up the crown with a few skulls and crossbones then worn it on his next airing, with a dinner plate brooch on his chest!

If Simon Wilson had bought it and paid a fair price towards BCC then I wouldn't have any truck with that, the crown was a lovely size and ideal as a shop prop for window advertising, where everyone could enjoy it, rather than stuck on the shelf of a private buyer. But hey ho, I doubt we will ever discover the truth, unless someone has a "deep throat" on the inside at QVC.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but sometimes we just have to agree to differ. This thread is anything but boring and thats because of everyones contribution. I hope people don't say they will never return to the forum because that's when things would get boring.

In my experience I have found that arguments start because people cannot get others to agree with them. They think they are right but when they don't succeed they resort to personal comments. People leave forums because they don't feel welcome, feel there is a dominant clique and their different views are ridiculed or they lose interest. I'm sure people can see why a thread dies a death so we all have a responsibility to each other to make sure that a debate remains healthy and respect a differing view. I've seen so many wind-up merchants who post things for the hell of it. They don't really give a damn they just want to have great fun at other members' expense. Wars start when one faction wants to impose its will on others and you can see it on forums too. Referring to recent posts, I see that comments have been made about Julia Roberts and Dennis Basso and doubts about another BCC item. I wonder why then, if people feel so strongly about these things don't people just stop viewing? If you really want to buy goods, log in and buy that way. If people feel that there are things which they cannot accept, why not just walk away from the channel?

I certainly hope that everything you say in your comment applies to you too? When I comment its because that's truly how I feel, but you're wrong, I dont expect anyone to agree with me, as no one else expects everyone to agree with them, after all, its a free world and each to their own. But yet here you are again, you are well and truly the "wind up merchant" that you speak of, or you wouldn't try to start up disagreements again, I won't be replying to you or taking part in your obvious atempt to cause trouble, so have a lovely day.

Forums are meant for discussion and quite often the subject matter and responses can seem trivial or even petty but that`s the nature of the beast. It doesn`t mean any of the subjects or responses are irrelevant, far from it. What I do dislike is the big stick approach some people adopt, out here in reality they`d probably be the one person who`d brow beat, corner a person and simply wear them down by going on and on and when the other person backs off they`d see it as a victory, instead of what it really is which is a form of bullying.
As for this thread, I think the crux of the matter isn`t so much DF because she is what she is, narcissistic and everything that entails, at times unethical and a Marmite person people either like or dislike to some extent. The crux is why and how her behaviour is disliked by some and obviously loved by others and also why Q allows her to push the boundaries as she does ? I think DF would be the same in whatever job she chose to do but it also shows Q put money and sales above all else by allowing her to get away with her self promotion and obvious self importance. Understandably this grates on some people but is accepted by others.
Yes she`s entitled to run her facebook as she pleases and yes its down to people to decide if they want to be a part of that but much the same as Jeremy Clarkson`s recent behaviour for example, you don`t have to be a follower to be allowed an opinion. To say just turn off, don`t watch, read or listen to anything about DF is like saying you`re not entitled to a view on LG handbags because you don`t buy them or you`re not entitled to a view on the Monarchy because you don`t really know them or you`re not allowed to say I dislike X political party but I agree with Y political party. As humans we make decisions, we use our emotions, we discuss, we agree with some things and disagree with others and so on, it`s who we are and without all of these good and bad human traits, this forum would die a death and so would life as we know it.

Do people actually read things properly? My last post was in response to Turandot and it made several comments which I thought people might take up. I assure all that I am not a wind up merchant and my views are sincerely held. The comments made in my last post were made in general terms based on my experience of forums. Shopaholic, you have convinced yourself that I am out to cause trouble. You are wrong. You persist in making outrageous assumptions about me which are judgemental and in themselves trouble causing and unpleasant. In a nutshell you called me silly in the first instance so in my view you were incapable of accepting my view without resorting to childish name calling. You have made more of this matter and I have responded. And now it has got to a stage that it shouldn't. Also Shopaholic, you appear incapable of allowing me to post without responding with a personal 'attack'. Stop making assumptions about me and stop in your dogged determination to malign my character. That is personal. Did I overstep a mark because I have a different view and will not kowtow to other people's hatred of a tv presenter? Thank God I have strength of character to stick to my principles. Is it your intention Shopaholic, to have a go at me every time I post? Because if it is then why would should I bother if you are always going to have a go?
