I use to like Dairy Box but my favourite chocolate was the hazelnut whirl in Milk tray. You use to be able to buy the original ones separately, haven't seen them for a long time.

WHAT WE NEED IS A CAMPAIGN TO BRING BACK PROPER CHOCCY CENTRES, let the Belgians and the Swiss (and Thorntons) keep their kacky gaggy middles, and bring back our nutty clusters !!!!111

Tesco often do Cadburys Roses in their "Pick n Mix" counter, so you could pick out all the hazelnut whirls then from their canister. I've done that before with Caramels just tossed in a few odd ones so they couln't argue! I remember they used to do lots of special boxes of our faves at christmas time but they all seemed to disappear around the time Woolworths bit the dust. Woolies used to have a fab choccie display at christmas, now its so samey as we've really only got the supermarkets.

Thanks a bunch! I now have a desperate craving for Fruit & Nut and/or Old Jamaica just when OH is away on business with the car and I can't get anywhere to buy any!!! Help:mysmilie_505:

Ooooo, nutty clusters, count me in as well!

Anyone remember Nux bars? Picnic's never tasted as good IMO.

Only problem is, if they bring back all these favourites, I'll start being tempted again, not eating chocolate at the moment!

They could bring back all our old favourites and call them RETRO SELECTION in the original box design as well, they would have sell outs I'm sure.

Yep, retro would be good. Fab reminiscent pressies for stocking fillas, I loved Texan bars and Cabana's and Frys Five Centres too, yum!

Blimey what a blast from the past!! I can just see those 5 little fruits on the wrapper  and I bliddy want one now!! :mysmilie_505:

Was that the bar with five sections each filled with a different flavour of fruit cream? I used to love those.

YES YES YES Gemma, 5 different fruit creams, AND there was Fry's mint cream and I think the centre was peppermint green.

And I agree, if some choccy manufacturer would come up with a retro box - but NOT in the format of heroes, or roses/quality street, then they would really be on to something. BUT its an age thing again isn't it, all those working in the sweety/choccy industry who would remember all those glorious centres are either retired or dead !

My all time fave was Peppermint Cracknell, now that really shows my age!!!

AND when she disects them they all look the same inside, regardless of what flavour they are supposed to be. Cant be doing with all this truffle, ganache and mousse. Whatever happened to hard centres ???? All expensive chocs taste exactly the same - where are the butterscotch, turkish delight, marzipan, caramel, coffee/strawberry/orange creams from years gone by eh ? Oh I YEARN for the Black Magic of years ago !!!!!!

Yeah I loved the original Black Magic choccies, toffee and mallow - scrummy!!! and the lemon creme was nice too. But toffee and mallow rocked lol.

They have ruined Black Magic, they are just awful now!!! Love the toffee and mallow ones too!!!!

Ooh, this takes me back a bit. I do have to laugh though. My old Golden Retriever, sadly missed, must have thought that all chocolates tasted like coffee creams as no one else liked them! He used to knock them back with gusto. And I know chocolate is supposed to be bad for dogs, but he lived to be 17 so it never hurt him :D

A Retro Box gets my vote too! And Fry's Chocolate Cream. I could go for one of those now. What is it about that that made it taste so different and yet so good? I'm going to have to find one and try it again.

Finally, if anyone has a Cybercandy shop anywhere near them, try and find Butterfinger bars. If you don't have a sweet addiction yet, you will when you try these :D
