Help Support ShoppingTelly:

I must say shopperholic that if the thread had been mine and if I`d posted it naively ( which I doubt it was ) then by now I`d have removed it quicker than sh*t off a shovel because of the hassle its causing. But no it`s still there and getting nastier and nastier ..... makes you think.

You're right it does make you think, the woman would've been better ringing QVC up and ask to speak to someone in charge then thanking them in person so yes, it does seem fishy.

There`s a big argument ( can`t call it a discussion ) rumbling away on Q`s facebook page. In a nutshell someone who just happens to be in the BTY group, posted on Q`s facebook page that she`s just had a knee op and out of the blue QVC had sent her flowers and chocolates.
Then all Hell broke loose.
Lots of questions being asked such as how did Q know she`d had an op, why was she getting special treatment, was this act of kindness linked to her being in one of DF`s groups etc etc etc. You can imagine !
I have only one question. Did the silly mare post about the chocs and flowers to deliberately antagonise or is she just plain stupid because surely to goodness she must have known that such a post would be like a red rag to lots of bulls !
I only hope in Q`s eyes that DF is worth all the aggro she causes, either directly or indirectly.

Debbie has, sadly, gone down in my estimation, following her ignoring my tweet about being blocked on the BTY page. If it is such a labour of love for her, hosting the show as a tool to help those in need of support - how she is qualified to provide this, is beyond me - and overseeing the page, she would WANT to sort out any problems. Realistically, both the show and the group, are vehicles to maximise sales and, as we in retail know, targets are everything, even for QVC presenters. If ever the existence of either the show, or the group, begins to have a detrimental effect on profits at the Q, they will be gotten rid of, PDQ.

WHAT and they can't even send me a Christmas card, I am mad as a whasp and spitting feathers:mysmilie_51: I noticed the other day DF posted a photo of her meeting for lunch with two 'Best friends from her back to you group' shazza was not at the lunch and I wonder who paid?

The whole lot stinks, why would Q randomly pick someone to send chocs and flowers to she has had a knee operation not some life threatening illness for goodness sake, anyhow more to the point who nominated her for this special act of kindness.

I presume she is a big spender £££££££ they are keeping her sweet. I bet it was Pheony Flawrs and a box of Thorntons.

Oh dear. I've now had a chance to read both the BTY FB and QVC's FB pages. I understand people wondering how this lady received flowers and chocolates, especially since some have approached QVC before to ask for such surprises for someone in their life and been ignored. Thankfully, QVC has answered the question about how the act of kindness occurred. They read a post on their FB page and acted upon it. They state that it was nothing to do with DB's BTY group so hopefully people will cease going down that road. We are all entitled to join Ms Flint's group (and Q's FB group) if we wish. If not, then it is not appropriate to criticise those who are members and enjoying the group for what it is. Oh, and it might be helpful if people read the pinned posts on Debbie's group to familiarise themselves with the rules of the group. he rules are exceedingly clear about what is not appropriate. By the way, I am not a member of either the BTY or QVC FB groups.

QVC and Random Acts Of Kindness do not belong in the same sentence.

I have read on the QVC FB(I am blocked so cannot post on it:mysmilie_17:), people suggesting giving customers an easy pay code for their birthday. The silence has always been deafening. The occasional, we do not do this.

I am cognisant of the rules of the BTY page and, consequently, did not post any comment, which was in contravention of said guidelines. If I had, I would not even have mentioned being blocked, as it would have been my own fault. This 'blocking' has happened, undeservedly, to so many members, it is beyond coincidence.
I do agree, however, that it is a forum which affords many a sense of belonging, and support, from others who either are in, or have been in, the same position as themselves.
It may be a thought, to consider an overhaul of the admin team. As long as QVC airs the BTY shows it cannot, practically, disassociate itself from the group. Perhaps a comparison with the guidelines for posting a review on the website, is valid. An external company decides which to allow and decline; similarly, the admin team choose who to block, neither party involving QVC, apparently.

I'll just sit back and wait for my QVC flowers etc then, as I'm having a total knee replacement op next Thursday.

Oh hang on ............... that won't happen because I'm not on FB and am certainly not a fan of a certain presenter. And to be honest, I'd rather not receive anything from a company who seem to favour sycophantic customers. Where's the loyalty to us .......... the normal ones?

The people who DF blocked for simpy not liking her book aren't able to join her fb groups, not me I'd never put a penny in her pocket, but the people her and her admin block for simply not liking what someone comments are excluded from many things because of this and its totally unaccetable. It maybe nothing to do with BTY but the woman was in the group. Yes QVC has commented so maybe next they'll be able to explain how they got the womans address from a simple comment of fb? While they're at it, they can explain why one customer is singled out.

My mum has had both knees replaced and QVC certainly didn't send her flowers!!!

QVC said on its Facebook page "Hi all, we really didn’t want to but we’ve unfortunately had to remove some comments from this thread as per our House Rules. Our random act of kindness was just that. We saw a post on our page and decided to do something nice. Just to clarify again, no involvement in groups etc. was taken in to consideration. We love all our customers and it’s something we may do again. We hope this now clears things up for you all."

It's quite simple: you either believe QVC's comment - or not. I would rather take the comment at face value than have steam coming out of my ears at some perceived injustice.

The Back To You Group Rules
Since this group is connected and publicised on QVC UK, we ask members to be conscious of that and know that any posts or comments which conflict with the interests of Debbie Flint, or other QVC presenters, guest presenters and QVC will be kindly removed (eg encouraging people not to buy from QVC or slating any personal aspect of the on air personell or criticising style or manner of presentation in a disrespectful way or anything else which would be deemed disrespectful by regular members of the group, will be removed. We do not as a rule ban members but flagrant flouting of the house rules will result in a ban if the admin find the comments nasty and unecessary. This does Not mean you have to agree with everything on this group. It just means be respectful. Regarding personal blogs, you can post a weekly update on them, if no-one else objects to its content, and we ask that the content remain personal and not publicise conflicting businesses nor be perceived to be one big advert to sell stuff! I know you'll understand. Any questions or queries just ask Sharon or Debbie by PM absolutely no negative nastiness please! To each other, about others or unhelpful comments.
Obviously it's not possible to do any direct plugs for businesses group members run - preferably chatty links and posts rather than peppering the group with link after link for products and plugs for your own sites. Do feel free to start your own group and invite people, but I'm sure you know why it's not possible on a group QVC are allowing to be featured on air! Many thanks!"

Ask yourselves if you have slagged Debbie Flint off, or her book, or said and done anything else that is a contravention of the above rules which will have led to being banned.

Regarding finding out the details of the woman who received the flowers and gifts, anyone joining a Facebook group has to provide a legitimate email address, and given that she stated her name, QVC will have had no trouble identifying her from their customer records.

BTY Admin gave a warning to some posters the other day when I went for a nose after the fight. People having problems with the last Lola Rose TSV, seems the new metal tag is not holding the bracelet closed for many. Discussing the problem the Admin stepped in and said they would have to remove these posts if they continued.

So if you join you must see no evil or speak no evil about QVC.

Yep, that's it. So now everyone is in no doubt, if you join, those are the rules. I'm amazed at how many people just do not read stuff. At least these rules are spelled out in unequivocal terms. Unlike the Loose Women FB page - they invite comments but then delete those they're not keen on whilst leaving other questionable remarks. But there are no 'rules' to break as far as I can see. Some fora use an algorithm which homes in on certain words and phrases and whoosh, the post is gone. Yes, let's bring in a dislike button !

Q can say whatever they like and give whatever reasons they give and create as many excuses as they wish to but it`s still another bad taste in some peoples mouths. After BCC and long winded argumentative threads about BTY and Queens groups on the main Q page, I can`t believe the sill woman posted the thread in the first place. Talk about stoking a fire lol.
I don`t give a toss about DF and her groups or their petty rules and regulations because I don`t entertain any of them, nor do I care who gets flowers but If you ask me ( and Q never do ! ) they should concentrate on keeping the majority of their customers happy by improving their service instead of making empty gestures to someone who`se name they more or less said they picked out of a hat.

As for rules ........

Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated,
mistakes are tolerated,
communication is open,
and rules are flexible
- the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.

And how many times have we heard DF and Q call us all family ?

or
Rules are not necessarily sacred, principles are.
