Ali K's Top Lip

Something odd about it, I can't stop looking at her to try and figure out what it is.

Maybe she has over worked them ...Goodness she has given me a headache :sweat:with her shouting at super sonic speed.
I don't use twitter, if I did, I would have asked her to take a breath in between her sentences.
I know I can switch the telly off or change the channel, but I do so much wanted to watch Andrew Yu 's fashion
Is she doing the next hour as well :headbang::headbang:

The first thing I thought was Botox but not sure maybe she has had some work done on her teeth.

It's definitely the upper lip, not the teeth.

It's like it's disappeared. From a distance, she looks OK, but up close there is almost a shadow where the upper lip would be.

Yes, I keep looking at the definite shadow. That's what made me ask what was was wrong with her lips. Also there seems to be no movement in her top lip when she talks, so perhaps the botox theory is correct.

Maybe it's her "stiff upper lip," or possibly she's had it Restylaned? Let's hope she doesn't do a Lulu trout pout - that wouldn't look so good with her tambourine-taut visage and her turkey neck.

A lady sat next to me the other day who had had cheek implants and lip fillers and she had lost her lip line, it looked all in one like a Muppet puppet unfortunately.

I think if she had chapped lips / a cold sore she would have said something, she must have seen that whatever it was/is that it is noticeable.

Can't imagine AK would have Botox or fillers given her health history. If they go wrong they can be pretty toxic for the immune system.

A couple of weeks again she was on air and you could see a complete difference to her face especially her eyes. Think she has had a mini face lift.

I think she's had 'work' done on several occasions, during the years I've been watching (long before her health issues). There have been times when her eyes have almost been 'piggy' like with her puffed up cheeks, its been very noticeable. Lets face it, she's a sun worshipper and her face is quite smooth compared to her neck, and with her being on the slim side (no padding), it would be reasonable to expect that her face would be equally lined.

She said on air yesterday it was her birthday and she was 'officially old' - what do we take that to mean ? I didn't think she had reached 60 yet - more her mid 50's. Anyone know ?

I don't think she's looking well, at all, at the moment. She also doesn't seem to be her usual chipper self. Hope she's not worrying about something.

Personal opinion from my observations, just by looking at the animation of Alison Keenans face... (I've not seen her recently however)

I feel, Alison has gone down the facial filler route. Possibly using a product called Restylane®. Some women go down this 'non-surgical' route, because the client is aware of facial atrophy (volume loss), yet has no R&R available for a scalpel assisted lift, or deal with the complications associated. Personally, looking at AK, her best option would be a rhytidectomy & platysmaplasty (face & neck lift) THEN supporting fillers (AKA the Lulu 'yeah yeah yeah' route)
As Alison's choice looks like fillers alone, this results in an over-puffy 'pillow-face' look, and the distortion of the lips might be caused by swelling in the mouth area (due to over filling of nasolabial folds, giving a lion mouth look) or general swelling (that does happen for a week or so after the injectables have been administered) this is because acid gel that is contained in the filler, will absorb water and temporarily appear swollen or edematous. This transient swelling will go away with time, so it could be that giving AliK an 'odd' look Also dryness and chapped could be soreness from needle placement

Personally, I would always say scaplel first, fillers second. Funny analogy - the face skin is a double duvet cover, as the years pass, the duvet inside shrinks. Only sensible to trim the cover, for a nice taught uniform fit rather than add bits of lumpy duvet:grin:

However.... (whispers) high cc's of fillers are more financially beneficial for the Dr administering, compared to the cost of a one-off lift, with little filler. :mysmilie_17:

"have some more filler, madam..."

Either way, I wish her good health.
