I think the new item number might be because each year the version is always a little different regarding pockets. That's my guess anyway.

These are the colours that will be available: Purple, Blue/Red Plaid, Cerise Pink, Navy with white polka dot, Leopard, Pink Leopard, Chocolate and Green. Hope that helps. That green will so be mine! :)
