Price mark ups in auction

Surely a defective item is covered by the sale of goods act 2015.
It’s covered by their own 6 month guarantee. You don’t need the return slip either to my knowledge. Go to my collection and look up the details and put them in package with it. you could say in your review that you’re sending it back. They can’t refuse to refund you for price plus your return postage.

So peeved with my cracked emerald pendant. Ripped the security tag off before noticing. How do they accept this from the factory in India? I have oiled it after taking the pics, but it’s still worthless
Jojo, their quality control has deteriorated in line with everything else. Is it worth a try at contacting them anyway, and asking for a refund - especially if you are someone who has bought items recently? A stone with a crack should have been spotted, you're absolutely right. Pretty appalling that it wasn't.

Isn't there six-month warranty for faulty items? Well, that cracked stone definitely is faulty, so you're entitled to a refund. As for Quality Control, I don't think they have such a luxury.

I don't think they've ever had a quality control. They've always had issues - even back in their good days.

If they have / did have, I suspect it is/was in Jaipur - which is rather pointless because the items may have been fine in Jaipur, but once they've been shipped half way around the world, thrown around in shipping containers that have been moved by crane or fork lift, and then travelled from Dover to Redditch on the UKs charming pot-holed roads, they're likely to get damaged in transit en route anyway.

More shystering on the breakfast wheels (except for Jeff’s shows). Do you know that even with the Halloween sale, they still auction clearance jewelry for more than the current sale tag price on the web? Couldn’t believe it when I saw a pair of SI diamond earrings for £15 more on the wheel than sale tag. They are even selling IF diamonds on the wheel at their non sale price, claiming it’s sale. Jeff even acknowledges during his shows that viewers know the prices well, so they must get quite a few messages about it.

Are they saying 'sale' or 'clearance'?

A couple of shopping channels have been reported to the ASA before for selling items for the same price as a previous broadcast, or higher, in 'clearance' shows - and they were not upheld by the ASA.

The ASA stated that 'clearance' does not mean that items have to be reduced - it simply means that they're clearing stock. However, 'sale' means that an item is/should be reduced from previous prices.

It is public perception that clearance means sale or 'reduced' - but that doesn't have to be the case.
