Watched some of this tonight with Mike Saint back on. I do enjoy when he's on. I think I'm a fan of that market stall patter. I liked that they included a clip of Mike Saint with Shayley outside actually cleaning a car. You certainly can't accuse him of being boring. It would be classes as a social experiment to put him in the room with Mulberry silk gent and see if Mike becomes more calm and the Mulberry guy becomes more manic

Bedding type show for three hours. Not a watchable proposition for most people not locked in a room with no channel changer and no power off button. So disappointing in terms of the monotonous long drawn out lack of variety. Not a conventional tech ( if drones aren’t ‘tech’) product to be seen since they began. Why?

I noticed a promo where they were asking companies to consider using them to demo products. A sort of shopping telly wanted ad. So I hope they get a decent response because having tech products would be great. Especially if it was done thinking about the gadget show and with interesting presentation

I thought ... as most of these channels seem to pre launch ... they promised something new, fresh with lots of different and exciting products?

;)

Can’t see IW4 lasting very long the market is crowded, qvc and tjc have this already sown up,with IW3 trailing behind picking up the dreg sales, waste of money for all those concerned 🙁

I forget to tune in to this very regularly (sorry Rob) but whenever I do… it's always RMD's cheap Chinese drones.

During Amazon Prime Day last week Amazon had the DJI Mini 4K for £209. An infinitely superior drone to RMD tosh in every respect. Yet I'm sure Richard was still doing his "you'd expect to pay £800,900,1000 for a drone with these features from the brand with three letters… you know the one I mean… Chaz, our producer, paid that for his and this one does more than his one does - he was in tears!" routine.

Due to severe insomnia after waking up after two hours sleep on a two seater sofa in the kitchen with the Dachshund on one shoulder and a Chihuahua on the other, for want of anything better to do other than look at Matchbox Superfast job lots on eBay, I tuned in again to Shop on TV. And there he is…’Himself’ Two, Azza Ennis with some woman I wouldn’t recognise in Tesco if I fell over her and some electrical mop or other for £199.99…

The trouble is with this channel is the intense boredom factor of having to endure one product for the entire duration of the show. Nothing appears to have changed as it has been more or less one product for the entire show since the channel began whenever I have checked the YouTube feeds. Other than generating the aforementioned intense boredom, they actually seem to be doing stuff rather well. It is visually very well presented, the website looks professional, and the human presentation itself is pretty good overall. Unfortunately , there is just no comedy, and for me without comedy on shopping television, it is just no fun. Saying that, Rob, is funny and charming, but even with his endearing manner, that cannot force me to watch a mop and ketchup stains on linoleum for two hours- even when it is him presenting it. For God’s sake, get a tablet or a phone to sell. Something different…Get that Grant geezer to showcase one.

I'll say again, although the quality of the footage would be limited by the tv it's being viewed on, I'm assuming they still don't show external footage that's been captured by these amazing drones? Happy to stand corrected if they now do. But if they don't, MMmmm I wonder why ...

I thought they promised something new, exciting and different ;)

I wonder how they are doing sales wise? You have to be realistic, and at that time of the morning, and with that level of tedious repetition, with solo products on for two hours or so, there is going to be, you would imagine, very little significant footfall live. Or so you would think? Purchase via their website or other online options, if any? Is that doing well? On the face of it, I cannot see how they are going to sell enough to survive long-term?

None of them bar maybe QVC will survive long term.

Maybe their sales numbers are ok? They're broadcasting for 2-3 hours? So even though it's the early hours, viewers are likely coming and going?

I think this could be a good show if they had a format to it. By all means bring in guests like Mike saint but mixed in with tech products or other interesting things. The lawyers talking about wills is an interesting and essential product, but there needs to be a break with other things. Variety is the spice of life as they say.. Everything else is well done and how it should be

there was some outdoor footage of the things flying but not what you would called a thorough testing, just promo shots

They must have been going long enough now to at least show one product per 30 minutes? Say, four items for a typical programme length. Or is it an editorial decision to have just one item up for sale for an entire broadcast? Just some variety…Why not those refurbished iPhones Ideal World 28 used to do? Is there no money in those now? Whatever our negative criticisms on constant repetition and lack of choices, they must be doing something right in their own minds? Maybe sticking with one big margin item works for them for the duration of their shows? But God help us all, watching that Antipodean guy with his never changing monotone repartee and those absorbent clothes for two hours is too much to ask anybody not being paid to do so to bear.

I wonder if it's intentional given the hours they broadcast i.e. just doing one product. Maybe more chance during the wee small hours for viewers to come and go, so a new rotating audience so to speak?

Vintage Cash Cow presentation last night with Anne Ziegler & Webster Booth. Not sure the way to getting the best price for your old jewellery, toy cars, watches etc. is to put them into a cardboard box en masse, then sell them on to a somebody else who’ll then sell them on elsewhere. But if you don’t want the hassle of selling items individually on eBay, or engaging the services and commission charges of an auction house, then I suppose it is one way of doing things most simply. Looking at the style of their TV ads (Shaun Ryan and ‘Chester’ do one) they put out, the business model is very much targeted towards older people who want to sell with ‘good, old fashioned British service’, without any aggravation, to perhaps give some money to the ‘grandkids’, say. The Wiltshire Farm Foods style of selling your unwanted stuff…

Last night they were offering an incentive of ‘£25’ bonus payment on what you send in to Vintage Cash Cow. That is a pretty hard bonus to measure, I would say. Similar to the old £500 off any used car at a dealership ploy, where they simply claw that back by offering £500 less on your part-exchange. How you would disprove they just offered you £25 less than normal to pay you £25 more on the trade box, I don’t know. That said, reviews of Vintage Cash Cow on Trustpilot are pretty good, and also in the favour of the broadcaster - Shop on TV are at least trying some different products and services to showcase. Though, I am sure in the dying days of Ideal World 57, they had Vintage Cash Cow shows on there, too.
