Crikey, best part of £70! I remember when a set that size as a TSV was around £40/45, and it's not that long ago.

I love a scented candle as much as the next person, but £70 on candles in one go just feels like throwing money away.

Personally, I think £69.00 for four average candles (with two sample sized candles added to give the appearance that you're getting more for money than you actually are) is absolute madness. It's not like Yankee are a premium brand and you can get much better for your money literally anywhere else, Aldi included.
Totally agree

I think some people are falling simply for the Yankee marketing of the passport option. The Munich Christmas Market option made me chuckle. Does it smell of sausage and mulled wine? Because I can assure you that's the overriding smell of a Munich Christmas Market.

Yankee were a bit of fun back in the day when their marketing was unique and their throw was great. I think clever marketing and a loyalty from elderly customers is all Yankee has left to be honest.

The likes of TK Max and Aldi have eaten into the Yankee market and I don't think there is the same market for their candles.

I think many people have also turned their backs on wanting their homes to smell like cookies and cinammon over the more sophisticated fragrances from the likes of White company, Rituals and the more expensive, Diptyque.

I was such a fan of Yankee back in the 90s and 00s when that homespun Americana concept was something different and Yankee led the way. The real nail in the coffin was their wax change after subsequent change of ownership, just as their competition started to eat into their margins and brand. I switched to bath and body works once their throw could no longer be relied upon after wasting so much money. So many fans have long memories of those days of zero throw and marketing lies.

I do agree to a certain extent however I have had some candles on offer from them lately and I have to say that the throw was fantastic. If these are below par they will be returned.

I agree with all the above comments. I was a massive Yankee fan, yes, the TSV price was around £40 , and lots of lovely accessories too. I have watched the presentation and was interested in buying but then common sense set in - £69 for candles that may or may not be worth it so I'm not buying, but I will wait for the feedback. I do wonder if sadly, Yankee has had it's day. I do enjoy listening to Rosa though, a little bit of the old QVC.

it seems quite expensive, tesco were selling gift boxes of various sizes in the summer for £20 with cc. i prefer Prices. Good to see Rosa back though.

Craig is on now with Rosa. At first I thought it was Glen Campbell! It was the beard, 😂😂.
I saw a bit of Craig today with various presenters and he was acting like a complete nob. I turned it all off. I'm getting a bit fed up of all the faux hilarity and shrieking and mucking about. Just tell me about the product, you don't need to sing to me.

CC

I think I heard Rosa say the total burn time was 380 hours. The old large jars burnt for around 140 hours each and the medium ones 90 hours, votives 8 hours. 476 hours.

yeah thats due to the new soya wax & the double wicks in the jars so they do burn that bit quicker but you get the fragrance & straength so much quicker so dont need to burn it as long

I have some Liz Earle to use up and a box or two of prices but I like Yankees and these were a good price. They have added soy and the jars are huge. Not a bad price imo

I did not buy the TSV because I have loads of candles to use up. I am burning Liz Earle absolutely gorgeous. Lovely strong throw, expensive waxes but not a cheap. Anather day I will burn a Prices candle but I know it will not be the same experience. Its not like for like!

I am really pleased Yankee have started using soya. It gives a clean burn and better for the breathing in.

So candle burning for me is only Sat or Sun around 6 pm until 11 pm. Apart from Holidays when I will burn, say Xmas Eve etc no matter what day of the week it is. Current candle I am burning is Molton Brown 3 wick, which I got early in the year when they had a sale on. One of the deals they do in-store only, buy some things and get a massive discount on other things. I know this candle should be £85, but I got it for around £40, it is the Oud one and great throw from it.

I nipped into my local MB store last week (we have two in Belfast), discovered I had £30 of loyalty!!!! Thought I might have a tenner. So bought shower/bath and matching body lotion, got another 3 wick candle and one of the soaps came to £149 and I paid £55!
