Well I have been burning Yankee for years and don’t think I have ever managed 140 hours out of a large jar, etc. I think I get closer to 110/120. The 140 was the higher side of the range with I think 90 being the lower.I think I heard Rosa say the total burn time was 380 hours. The old large jars burnt for around 140 hours each and the medium ones 90 hours, votives 8 hours. 476 hours.
Yes, that's me. I want my candles to smell lovely, not burn out in 10 minutes and not cost upwards of £50. Hard to please I know!I think people want the specialist wax and expensive scent and the strong throw but dont want to pay what it costs.
Thank you Donna, of course that would do it! You probably have a point about distributors- this is the first time I've purchased Yankee from QVC since their "return" so shouldn't be surprised if procedures etc have changed .Wrap your votives in cling film should help keep them fresh.
Perhaps, Enesco is the distributors for Yankee in the UK?
Glad you like them. I wanted to buy but have loads of candles: Harry Slatkin, Prices, Liz Earle,Yankee to name but a few.Mine have just arrived - went for the passport to the holidays collection and I have to say that I am very pleased I went for these. The jars are currently freezing cold and on first sniff the scents are very nice. North pole was the one I was probably dreading as I presumed after Rosa saying peppermint it would be awful but they are beautiful. North pole isn't minty at all.
Very sophisticated scents and strong upon sniffing the lids even though the jars are icy cold
I put melts in the airing cupboard. I stopped using candles years ago as the smell of paraffin overpowered any scent. I did post it on the QVC Facebook page and was told it wasn't paraffin wax. That started an arguement with people saying try were paraffin as they could smell it.Hello Folks....I'm probably going to sound ill informed - and possibly dim - but I've received my floral collection today. Have no complaints, and looking forward to using in the spring, but I wasn't aware the new style votives weren't wrapped separately in that they only have a piece of cardboard over them. I usually store votives together in a box and wonder how the fragrance lasts when they are open to the air - I'm probably late to the party on this BUT what has thrown me is I thought the candles were coming from Yankee directly (although in fairness this was never stated to my knowledge- just "direct from the supplier") but inside the box the delivery note is from a company called Enesco Gift Shop. Looking online they sell loads of stuff including Yankee candle products. In the past the products have come direct from Yankee with various leaflets about use, allergies, burn time etc but not these ....the candles were very well packed and came quickly - just not direct from Yankee it seems - I dont suppose it's important but it surprised me as I wasnt aware
I think its a soy blend so maybe the majority paraffin with some soy blended in. like I said if you want pure vegetable wax and the best essential oils you have to pay Vegetable wax and essential oil money. Prices and Yankess are not the most high end candles but are good for the money spent imo.Or course it used to be paraffin wax. Why would Rosa announce on air they are now soya out of the blue?
Yes they were all paraffin wax and they made a big deal when they first brought out a different line in soya wax as a sort of sideline to test the water I think. They were in square containers. I think they could see that people were going to start switching to purer stuff because of all the stuff in the press about the particles we were all breathing in.Or course it used to be paraffin wax. Why would Rosa announce on air they are now soya out of the blue?
Got mine yesterday. Also pleased with the passport to the holidays collection. So much so that I've bought a bigger version of the woodlands weekend (or whatever it's called) already (started on this the minute it arrived - the only one I've burnt so far and I am getting scent from it even as a votive). Love North Pole, and (surprisingly to me) I also love the smell of London Christmas Tea. I'm not so sure about the Munich Christmas Market as it's more of a sweet/chocolate smell but I'll give it a go.. I've never burnt a Yankee Candle before although I had some wax melts years ago. I too have a huge stash of others but I'm easily led astray by a candle and particularly a Christmas candle. Hoping for good things but if they don't give out the scent I want I will try and learn my lesson (hopefully), get through my stash and only buy from small business candle makers who I already know and trust (that said I picked up one from Aldi the other day that I was planning to give to a friend and then 'accidentally' lit it and it has a great throw).Mine have just arrived - went for the passport to the holidays collection and I have to say that I am very pleased I went for these. Mine came last night, at about 9.30! No tracking so I was quite surprised when I heard the door. I too ordered the Passport option. I had a sniff but at that time you can imagine how cold they were after being out on the van all day! Very nice fragrances though. I had wondered if the Munich one might be a bit too foody for me, but it seemed to be fine. I haven’t had a rummage through them again so don’t know if they are any stronger after a night indoors. But I was pleased with them. I’m going to get the matching melts too.Mine have just arrived - went for the passport to the holidays collection and I have to say that I am very pleased I went for these. I was surprised about the lack of notification/tracking and how fast they'd arrived too - I think they'd said on the presentation that it wouldn't be until next week. I'm waiting for the advent wreath (I really can't resist a christmas candle). I checked and it was dispatched the same day so hopefully the lovely Evri man will be back today (I'm really lucky with Evri, I know a lot aren't).Mine came last night, at about 9.30! I ordered that collection too and am very pleased with it. Mine haven't turned up yet and I am getting worried as people have mentioned no tracking. I tried calling QVC this morning but was engaged, then an automated message telling me what I already knew ie, in process. Is the delivery still Evri as they tend to let you know what day it is coming?Mine came last night, at about 9.30! No tracking so I was quite surprised when I heard the door.
