Brilliant thread. I have to say I do love my beauty TSVs. Because. I also buy them for my sisters, the p&p works out a bit cheaper overall. However, I know there is a lot of hype and part of the buying comes from seeing grown women gushing over the products - gullible of me, I know.

The brands that I have repeat purchased are the AD skin synergy oil, some philosophy amazing grace stuff but it has to be at a really good price, Laura Geller (getting the balance and brighten in a TSV is just a no-brainier for me) and Mally.

The brands I have stopped buying are l'occitane and Liz Earle. There are just too many good, cheaper alternatives out there. I use the NSPA and the superdrug hot cloth cleansers (and the simple facial wash on occasion) instead of C&P and all are great for my skin, and for bath products a brand called Naked Bodycare. Their shower gels and body butters are beautiful and their Thirst Aid moisturiser is gorgeous for dry skin. All of these are a fraction of the inflated individual QVC prices and even the ammaaaazing value prices in sets. I tend not to buy individual items anyway as they always seem so expensive and then you have the hideous p&p on top.

However, still love QVC for introducing me to some lovely things and often get taken for being 10-15 years younger than I am. I do believe that if you use a moisturiser regularly and an SPF you are doing good things for your skin, no matter the brand and cost.

The only beauty brand I would insider buying off QVC is barebmineralsbecause the colours available suit my complexion and I don't need anti aging products, however I can buy them for about half the QVC price from other online retailers foundation for £20 ish seems to be my limit.
I might consider buying SBC products but do not need any more arnica bath soak
The products that make me laugh at the price are the mascara treatment type things for £40+ needless to say A TSV containing them wouldn't float my boat

I used to buy a lot of the skin care TSVs but as the prices have crept up I've been tempted less & less. I don't think the quality is there the same either. Gone are the days when L'Occitane TSVs used to contain full sized body lotions, foot creams & Shea handcream plus a couple of shower gels & a soap for around £35. I never missed one of those but can't remember the last time I bought one of their TSVs. I had a dreadful, burning rash the first time I succumbed to Gatineau so never again. Elemis I just don't much like except for a couple of things.
I really only buy the Laura Geller, Mally & Bare Minerals one now, if the colours look right for me. Oh.....and nail polish. I've no won't power

I've really cut back, £40ish would be my limit but I have really cut back . Locci is just taking the Micky if you ask me, all the little travel sizes, well they are ok for weekend breaks, that's it. They used to do good TSVs full size products, super and £40 ish but that was years ago.
I stopped buying Liz when she sold out but kept it very quiet, it changed my opinion of her ethics.
Philosophy just doesn't do the TSVs they used to, I loved them.

Boots has Smashbox, Stilla, philosophy amongst others plus john lewis does floris shower gel which is to die for so I stock up with that every time it's in the sale and pick up for free from nearest waitrose

I cant understand people who buy perfume from q if the haven't had a sniff of it
Oh and I am another TK max rummager

Elemis lime blossom toner brought me out in a rash .....and some items just being me out in a sweat ...on top of my hot flushes :whew:
