Was just watching the promos for Diane Gilman and she looks scary ! Why do people mess with their faces and look so unrealistic .It just draws an attention and not in a good way .Guess each to his / her own ,but just my opinion .

I agree with you. I don't know why some people seem to think a few lines and wrinkles are unacceptable. I like the fact that someone's face looks lived in and tells a story. I have often thought that Diane Gilmans face looks like it would crack and rip if she smiled.

Tracy is looking more waxen every time she appears - but at least she hasn't reached the level of Jackie Stallone ......aaaaaaaagh !!

I don't know what they're thinking. Many of them look nothing like their previous selves, you've a job to recognise them & they don't look younger, just different & slightly odd.

Agreed, it's even scarier when there's someone you actually know who's had botox and some surgery and they look so wrong. I always wonder she sees when she look's in the mirror and do her family not see it. I'm not as close to her as I used to be so it's not my place and a very delicate subject of course. Younger hubby, nearly in her 60's.

I think Diane Gilman looks hideous as do most of these plastic faced women. Why do they do it as they must have seen others who have had it done and how awful it looks. With their Botoxed lips they look like they should be swimming around in a glass bowl.

At least Diane Gilman has the excuse of being old(er), although she does look very "worked on". Look what Leslie Ash did to her face. Why on earth such a beautiful girl would do that to herself is beyond me.

you can go to any high street and next to the butchers shop there will be a salon that does botox. these people are not trained plastic surgeons. i would rather have a face lift than these injectables

I'm sure there are many people who do it well...... I have lost loads of weight but my face tells it so would love a nip and tuck, not sure I can afford it but I know it's the first thing I'd do if I won the lotto. Creams and serums don't do it.

a proper facelift not injectables from the high street ...costs but its worth it

i would like my body done. face not bad for my age but the old bod....those make over shows show how it should be done. gentle aesthetics not great big globs of botox

Must admit, I'm tempted to have my boobs done and put back in the right position, at the moment they're more like a health and safety hazard............could trip up at any moment. :mysmilie_17:

I always think if these people with loads of money make a pigs arse (pun intended) of it what chance would I have with my £2.50.

If I began the surgery route it would have to be a very long work in progress so I would never begin what I couldn`t afford to finish. I reckon if you have one bit done, then you become more dis satisfied with other bits and so it begins.
My local hairdresser/beauty salon offer botox and fillers and I once asked whether they had many people interested in it and she told me quite a few have regular courses of both. That would scare me because they aren`t medically trained and both treatments can go badly wrong.
One of my ex colleagues nearly lost her life after having a tummy tuck and has never been able to work since and is totally disfigured. She had the op in Poland and came home after a few days only to be rushed into hospital when her scar became badly infected, a hole began to form and she was seriously ill to the point she almost died. She`d contracted a kind of flesh eating bug. Around the same time a footballer`s wife was in the news after a similar incident had happened to her.
Major surgery is ok for medical reasons, the risks are worth taking for the sake of good health but IMO they`re not worth taking for the sake of vanity.

Diane Gilman looks like a bizarre fusion of a Barbie doll and a melting candle. She looks ridiculous with her trouty mouth and her Diana Ross domed forehead! I read somewhere that she used HGH (human growth hormones) for some time. Sounds dodgy to me.

I'm in exactly the same boat - lost 4 stones and just turned 60. I've got loose skin on my belly & thighs which doesn't bother me but I'd like to reduce my bingo wings. My neck is now very slack. I've thought about Botox but I think surgery is the answer.

I agree with the lotions and potions being useless and I can't bear to listen to the presenters making outlandish statements about their products.

Oh I know, it always makes me guffaw when I see a tandoori-tanned, tortoise-necked and tambourine-faced Alison Keenan extolling the virtues of Gatineau etc. I know she's had health issues and I think she is a nice person but with a skin more leathery than an old satchel she's no advert for these products.
