Valentines Day

Barbs, is your OH my husbands long lost twin brother?!! Never had a valentine card or present, he says its too commercialised. You say to yourself, he's right, it doesn't matter, but sometimes you think it would be nice. Mind you, there is no money here for a bunch of daisies since I lost my job, so its all irrelevant anyway.

The meal out with the kitties sounds good, If I lived nearer and borrowed a cat for the evening, I would join the fun!
Oh sorry to hear you've lost your job Itchy, hope you get another one. When my kids were growing up i used to clean for people and iron and iron and iron.
Never made a fortune , but was better than nothing.

My DD says the same about valentines day, and told her OH not to buy her anything, as he's good to her all through the year. Where i got her from i don't know, and how i can't be sensible like her i don't know. You'd think a woman who's 60 should know better. But one year when we weren't long together he did make an effort, flowers , meal, hearts round the fire, but then NOTHING. I used to point it out but this year i just decided not to bother, so you're welcome to join us all, you don't need a cat, just yourself and a sense of humour :)

Today's Valentine's Day conversation was pretty much the same as every one of the last 30.

OH: "I got you a card but I'm not getting you flowers today because the prices are a rip-off".

Me: "Does that mean you'll be buying some when they are cheaper?".

OH: "Errr.....".

Gawd!! He's stuck on the M6 or he was. So now I've changed our reservation until 7.45. It'll be a wonder if he stays awake at the table. He'll have driven for four hours plus to get there "on time". Oh well. I'll fluff myself up anyway.
