You should be ok to return it, as long as it can be considered normal use over the 30 days.

They don't want you decanting the stuff onto an empty bottle and returning a few ml's of the product
(Not that you would..)

I wonder if anyone has ever scoffed a whole box of Thorntons and sent the empty box back?
