Ultrasun TSV 2/4/15

I second Juiius and his recommendation of Boots Soltan. I wrote about it on a thread recently, the last time Ultrasun reared its head. Having fallen for a multipack offer years ago because of Abi in hyper mode, I only realised afterwards that two stonking great bottles of F 20 are no use to someone who needs F 50. Didn't like the F 50 when I finally made another expensive purchase of Ultrasun, bulked out as someone else said, with after sun, which is only cream like Nivea etc.
Since then I have got Boots Soltan (being careful to get the packs labelled Once) for one a day application, and it has done me well. Shall be ordering this summer at a 3 for 2 offer time to stock up for India.
Since you have mentioned your 4 day writing freebie, Julius, I think it only fair that you throw open to competition the role of pencil carrier. I am ready for the audition.

Hello Quiet,

Yes Soltan is good, isn't it? Usually they do them on 2 for 1 around this time of year so I usually get one for the body, one for the face. Last year I noticed they changed the fragrance of the Soltan Once (body). It smelled like cat sick and I took it back. They said I could choose any product as an alternative so I picked the Soltan once spritz / spray for the body. It is superb. So now I have Soltan Once Face (30), Soltan Once body (30) spray, Soltan Baby (50) (for when I'm going out only for an hour or 2 so I don't waste my "Soltan" Once) and a big bottle of Soltan body (15 with tan accelerator) - not Once. I still got loads left over from last year and the bottle of 15 I still have in my flat in Lithuania, so I shall grab it when I'm there and use it all up.

It is nice to travel and stay somewhere nice at someone else's expense but I won't be doing much relaxing. I will be out all day researching and making notes, talking to people, taking photos etc. Then I have to write up the piece by Day 4 and send it with photos. If I don't bring home the bacon, I'm stuffed :( I bought a flat cap today as it's good to wear a hat in the sun. I will wear it back-to-front so it helps to cast a shadow over my neck. Then I'll schlap on the Soltan. The sun had better be shining while I'm there. If it doesn't I might hire a lighting grid and MAKE it shine!

BTW for lips I find there is nothing better than Uvistat SPF 50 stick. Expensive but offers 5* UVA protection. The cap changes colour under UV light. Products also contains tea tree and vit E so is soothing and healing. Alternatively Nivea do a lip SPF (comes in yellow stick tube) which is either SPF 25 or 30 and protects instantly.

Was in John Lewis in Oxford St today and they had Ultrasun in there. I forgot to go to Boots. Was too stressed out hunting flat caps / socks in Primark. Went into Debenhams to see if they had single L'Occitane soaps and they only had a gift set for £29, so sod that. Will get soap online.

Thank you, Julius, for that very comprehensive reply. That is such a good tip about Soltan Once. I shall open and sniff it and if it smells like cat sick, return it as I don't want people to have to stay away from me on the India trip.

I will be avoiding the sun. My 2 stepsisters who live abroad in sunny climates and who are brunettes have necks and skin that are very wrinkly. I have lived mainly in the UK working in an office so with limited exposure to the sun and then hardly ever going in the sun, my fair skin is in so much better condition. I only started wearing moisturiser about 5 years ago. Now I wear a little Laura geller powder some days too.

I checked my supplies last night and I have hardly any left from my holiday last summer and we are going o Germnay in June so I'm thinking I might get one of these however I'm not sure which would be better for us as my boyfriend isn't going to want to wear the glimmer (and I'm not 100% sure I do either), but don't know if the smaller family one will last a week.

We are also flying home from America the day of this TSV, so if I'm getting it will have to ask my Mum to order for me.

I watched the video properly now and the high SPF set is 30 for the body and I need the 50 so it's a no from me as I only wanted the after sun and possibly the face 50. I love my sports 50 spray so will stick to it for now, I bought two (or three?) bottles in tkmaxx about a year ago £10 each and thought this was plenty, I'm now almost on my last one and wish I got more back then.

If someone doesn't need the aftersun in this set I will be interested to buy one or two at a reasonable price.

M&S rebranded their suncare and it's now with the leaping bunny.
They do a 50% on suncare around May time, first or second week.
I loved the older version of the aftersun in the darker blue tub, not the recent light blue, I'd actually turn browner overnight after sunbathing on previous day and it didn't have a selftan in it. I hope they have now corrected it, I will definitely try in the sales.
The spf was face and body in the 200 tub and not irritating on the face.

I think I'm going to go for this TSV after all, apparently this summer is going to warmer than the previous one and it was warm.

i had very bad prickly heat and the ultrasun was rubbish. the glimmer irritated it even more because of the particles. the lip balm was anything but balmy more like drying. the face was ok but i preferred the texture of the alpha h. i will use it up but very grugdingly

I've got my Soltan. Will buy a couple more when I see it on special in Boots. I'm not going to line lying Aby's pockets for her Swiss gloop laced with aluminium!
