Tignanello TSV 8th March 2012

Just watched the repeat and I like the look of this TSV. It's a similar style to the Louis Vuitton Alma bag but about £500 cheaper!! The only thing is that the leather is quite soft and it doesn't look structured enough. A bag like that has to stand up and look the same either full or empty. The jury is out though at the moment.

Tuned in to check out the TSV but not for me...I'm older and can remember this kind of style 40ish years ago, on the arms of numerous aunties! I do like some of the others I saw on the repeat hour and particularly like the wine and the cobalt blue - but I am determinedly keeping away from the phone, I treated myself to a couple of LE items on anniversary prices the other day!

Jilly (launch) and Kathy (morning show) are pronoucing Tignanello as "Teen-yellow" and it's starting to annoy me.

I've got 5 reasons why I won't order the TSV:

1. The concertina sections would drive me mad. I feel I've got more of a sporting chance with a big hole
2-5. I don't need another bag

Watched it at midnight and was very tempted by the black but couldn't be bothered to get out of bed to order it and it had gone by the time I checked the website this morning. I talked myself out of buying one of the other colours because having thought a bit more about it, the concertina sections would mean my camera which is quite chunky wouldn't fit in there for hols. A nice bag though. Only the blue and magenta are available now and I prefer the classic colours.

Not for me but am hugely tempted by the French Tote in white. Don't have a white handbag at all following the demise of my beloved Gucci white handbag. I'm dithering though because I've bought a few white handbags over the years and the leather needs to be seriously good quality or the bliddy bag will look dreadful inside of a year.

Just a word of warning on the metallic Tignanello bags ... the handles do dull down after a while and there's nothing you can do about it. The actual handbag body doesn't wear anything like as quickly.

I resisted temptation. Yay! I asked myself, if I bought it would I actually use it and the answer was no.

Surely Kat will confirm if and when she wants to regarding her QVC account.

I'm sure she will but having read her long post about why she wanted to close her account I was surprised that she was thinking of still buying from QVC.

Perhaps she has had a change of heart.

The French Tote looks very nice but it only has a magnetic clasp to close the middle section so not very protected from pickpockets. The blurb is saying that alot of the Tignanello bags are steeped in dye so that if they scratch the colour does not come off the leather.

You're right about the magnetic clasp but it also has a strap that pulls is together east west (if you see what I mean) and that goes under the magnetic clasp so it's not as open as it might appear. But if that's a concern for you then fair enough.

I'll try and get a picture of the handles to better explain what I mean. I have the bronze one and I have used it loads. It's not that the colour has come off, it's just darker and less metallic. It doesn't bother me as such as I love the bag but it doesn't wear as well as the non-metallic bags. To be fair though I had a bronze Ri2k bag that "peeled" within weeks. I have had my bronze bag for months.

Oh and I forgot to say I have a Furla bag that has exactly the same closure so perhaps I'm used to it. Went to check the closure and how safe it was for you and I have a Patrick Cox handbag today that has a zip so that's no help at all ... lol

The other thing though is that to close the French Tote properly does really cut down on what you can put it in.

Well, i may still close it but I have some easy pays outstanding and a couple of refunds due. And you guys gave me some good advice about not cutting my nose off to spite my face when I can get some decent benefits from QVC from time to time. I can be a very hot headed Aries (not that I really believe that astrology stuff).... And besides, this was HANDBAGS.... I am an addict....an addict who prefers to have a small collection of well-used bags rather than loads that I dont use. I am always on the lookout for the holy grail - the perfect handbag. Thought it was the Kipling large fairfax. But maybe it should be leather or faux leather in the same style before it would actually BE perfect...
