The perfect Christmas present........NOT

A friend had a friend, well yes I did know her. And every year my friend got bath salt cubes from the other friend. Now, they had been friends for years and my friend never had a bath, only a shower in her house.
If there was an actual bath in the bathroom and not just a shower, the friend could be excused because she might not have known about her friend only showering. Otherwise, not!

It depends upon the quality, I'd be happy to receive luxury bath products or a yankee jar, but a gift set from Tesco or a low end retailer like Home Bargains yes they'd be donated straight away. I think if you're gonna buy someone a xmas gift, then make it something a bit more special. I'd be happy to receive a box of fudge for feeding somebody's cat whilst they're away but not for Christmas. I would say that mugs are the most undesirable thing, everybody's got loads of them!
A Chanel 5 candle and bar of soap would be a nice gift. But a Yankee candle that smells like apple pie and a Molton Brown rhubarb soap less so!

Oh my days! Bath cubes - a staple Xmas gift of the 1970s. All year round we’d use matey or Radox but at Christmas we’d crack open the bath cubes or the little coloured balls filled with bath oil. The nearest thing to a luxury bath product in those days was Badedas or Fenjal and I didn’t know anyone who used it! Perfume was modest - granny wore Tweed, mum wore aqua manda and for Xmas she’d probably get a bottle of Just Musk or Blasé, fine perfumes were worn by the Fenjal squad! Teenagers were happy with a set of 3 soaps shaped like lemons and a bubble gum flavoured lipgloss. How things have changed!

I think the money spent on a Chanel candle and soap would probably buy you something far more desirable than a candle and a bar or soap!
