Surprise Price - More Like Shock Price

Gold ring on at the moment with a surprise price of £3027 (easy pay of £756). Who would pay that for QVC jewellery? Given the problems I had with valuations for QVC fine jewellery, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. JR said 'you'll be so glad that you bought this'. I'd be so bankrupt.

When does 'easy pay' become 'let's make it look cheaper by showing a lower looking price' pay?

£750 is not what I call easy.

If you are fortunate enough to be in the position to spend £3000+ on a bit of jewellery, would you really be getting it off a shopping channel?

I assume that anyone looking to spend £3000 on a ring is celebrating a major event, so I'm surprised that they might buy from the telly rather than looking for the "perfect" piece in a high-end jewellers. But I guess there are people who cannot get to shops very easily and QVC is a sensible option.

It's still a lot of money, I could n't do it.

Well, if people cant get to the shops easy, but have 3 grand to spend on an item of jewellery, then do I dare to respectively suggest that if they can afford this sort of money, then surely they could afford the price of a taxi or pay someone to chauffeur them to the shops !
