Well me of course  I looked in the mirror half an hour and there was my granny (actually, if only it was her). I've not had that good an evening, I need my gran 👵

I wonder if you know who you all are? (rhetorical)
Keep guessing!

People say your are old when you see your mother looking back at you. Like CC I now see my grandmother in the mirror - how did that happen? lol

Many years ago I went to a Medium and she told me my grandmother looks over me and deflects any slight that may come my way which I find comforting.
I can understand why that would be comforting. I had two very different grandmothers & I adored my mum's mum. At the moment I still see me in the mirror, however, my hands have become like hers, especially when I wear her rings.

Maybe it's you Twi :D:D I wouldn't mind being an elder as I think it means we're wise or spent too much of our hard earned cash on complete carp and can warn off those that follow us onto the forum. I could be the matriarch of wasting money. I could probably write a self help book!

I was told something similar, Lil - apparently my great-grandfather who was a vicar, is keeping an eye on me. I have words with him every so often when I think he's slipping!

On a more worrying note, my daughter's partner has been diagnosed with covid but so far she's not showing any symptoms. Her sister had just a very slight cough and a slight head cold with covid and their aunt, one of the shielded, was mistakenly put onto a covid ward but even so didn't get it - go figure! But we're hoping he'll be okay. He's tired and has a phlegmy cough but seems to be a bit better today.

Anyone on their own for Christmas?
I was supposed to be going to friends, but the hammer blow of tier 4 means I'm home alone.
I will go out to meet a friend similarly situated in a park with some bubbly and nibbles, provided it isn't p1ssing down with rain (as I will have a 20 minute walk to get there).
But I will be checking in on the "big" day, if anyone else is around.
we have rallied and supported each other during this grim year, so why not on Christmas day as well?

My Mr T & our cat will be with me but I may as well be solo. Sox spends most of his days asleep on the window seat, minus quick trips to the garden for his ablutions, & since his major health crisis last weekend the old man's much the same except he snoozes in a chair & uses the downstairs cloakroom :ROFLMAO:

Wishing all of them the best. I only know one person who has had it, she's in her mid 70s & caught it on holiday in Spain back in March. She described it as no worse than a heavy cold & was back swimming every morning as soon as the leisure centre opened. Make sure great grandad's on the case!

Now where's the fun in that?

Plus someone will inevitably get the hump.....

If I'm not one in my beige cardi, *** end and wispy grey hair tied up in a bun, I'll sue! (But even I don't like being typecast by someone who doesn't know me).
You haven't been. Not by me, at least, although I did enjoy your imagery.

No one would get the hump, we’ve had a lot more to get the hump over in 2020.

I don’t mind being an elder, I could hold a sabre and wear a long black cape with a hood that covers my face, so all you see is a dark shadow where my face should be.............oh no wait! stop! that’s Star Wars. 🤔

I'd wear a basque, stockings & hold a whip. Oops, that's our private life no longer private 😉

Just a thought - first, thank you to Graham, Sazza and the crew for all your hard work on this site. It can't be easy policing so many bolshy people or drama queens like me (I'm both, according to Mr C when he's been beaten into submission) and thanks to scw and Sazza for all the updates.

If it's possible, why not try to log in either on any hour or half hour on Christmas day to say hello to anyone who needs a bit of tlc here? No set times so we might see nobody at all but if we could make the effort once on the day it might help someone get through things - any thoughts on this?

Defo.

I`ll be logging onto ST at some point on christmas day, probably when Mr V nods off on the sofa so if anybody wants a chat and they see my name on the members list then feel free. I check in on here every single day, Christmas or not and it`s a part of my daily life reading what people have written, having a laugh at some posts or just being nosey what people are buying or not buying.

Yes, a big thanks to Graham, Sazza and Super who make this forum possible. Hope you all have as good a Christmas as these times will allow. I think it's a good idea for us forumites to pop in and out of here on the 25th if we can as who knows if people's plans will have to be changed at the last minute and a virtual chat and companionship is so much better than none at all 🤗🤗.

I hope everyone has a good Christmas and New Year despite the restrictions.

In my case, I can perfectly legally stay with OH, but I just hope she likes the vacuum cleaner, window mop, oven cleaner set, microfibre cloths, new washing up bowl, rubber gloves, floor mop, and sundry other household items that I've bought her for xmas, otherwise I may get kicked out.
