What a boring TSV. Surely the buyers could have come up with something just a bit different? This is just like a variation on every other SBC TSV from the last 5 years IMO.

My Mum will love this SBC, but I'm out myself - I still have Arnica, Propolis & Collagen Gel from other TSVs. I would have liked to try the Arnica Shower Creme & Propolis Bath & Shower Gel though.

SBC always has me sitting on the fence but I may get this TSV
I had a Discectomy two weeks ago' the staples are out and all is healing well. The only thing is the dressing has left irritation where it was stuck and obviously that part of my back is sore....bruised I suppose.
I am in sexy white post op socks for another 4 weeks but by heck my legs are so dry, I have also noticed the skin on my hands is really dry and rough.
I am blathering my legs in e45 every morning but you can't get cream on the socks , does SBC stuff sink in quickly and do you reckon this TSV would help my skin and bruised area?

SBC Gels do sink in very fast , some people get fantastic results on bruising others find it does nothing at all, I guess with Qvc you can take advanatge of the 30mbg.

I wonder if you may be better off getting the previous Tsv rather than this one , as it still gives you the 500ml propolis get , but it gives you a litre of the arnica gel and the muscle soak plus the 100ml warming arnica gel, Its only a few pounds more than when it was a Tsv, theres plenty of reviews so maybe worth having a read of them :), Hope you feel better soon

Thanks for that quick reply, we got our bath removed and big shower put in a few years ago so the muscle soak won't be of any use if it's a bath thing. This is the first time I have missed having a bath.
Which is the best product they do for dry skin?
And which would you recommend for the scar area and this damn red itching patch from the dressing?
That's worse than the actual op scar.

You can`t put arnica onto wounds unless they are fully healed. You can apply it to bruising though. The propolis is good for itching but be very careful not to get it on your wound. TBH I think you might be better getting a prescription from your GP. None of SBc items are medical per se, and with you having new operation sites, you need to be very careful.

I would say Propolis would be good for the dry skin and itching however like Vienna said , you need to becareful what your applying to that area atm. I think if your looking for help with the scarred area, once its healed you'd probably be better with Decleor Prolagane Gel

Thanks Vienna......I have been using e45 itch relief and it has been ok but last night for the first time I woke up itching so I'm wondering if my body has got used to it, maybe you're right and I should speak to my GP but I don't want to bother him about what really is something small considering what he did for me a couple of weeks ago when all other GPs have just given me various pills.
I don't want to become a nuisance.

If your on Fb , you could contact either Adele or SBC direct and ask them what they thought about using there products and which they would recommend.

You`re not a nuisance, you`re a recovering patient and you want to use what is best and safest. Ring your surgery and ask them can your GP leave a prescription or see the practise nurse. You need to be safe with new scar sites.

Oh if I ask for anything on px it would be some new socks in black, these white ones are a pain, we have black pets who seem to be chucking all their unwanted moulting fur at my legs! Not a good look on white socks.

I met this GP for the first time a couple of weeks ago when I went to the practice ( it's one of those with a few GPs) I couldn't even say my name for crying in pain.

He came and saw me and started to talk to me and started felling me about red flags.
Then he stopped and examined me, called hubby in and rang for an ambulance on a blue light. To say I was shocked was an understatement, every other GP has just been giving me different painkillers and diazepam.

I have had back problems on and off for 11 years and seen osteopaths, physiotherapists, had an injection in my bum at hospital years ago and had various meds for various GPs.
Since May I have had sciatica, was referred back for physio( NHS had 10 week waiting list and said I did not have sciatica when they did their phone assessment) so went private for physio.
I have never experienced such pain yet I struggled into work every day.

I did not know how much damage it can do, this new GP saved me from becoming doubly incontinent so if anyone on here has or ever gets it have a read of this

Sorry for the hijack

Back to SBC, I am going to get it I think if not the TSV I will pick something
Thanks for the responses

Awww you sound like youve had a pretty rough time of late , Take advantage of Qvc's MBG , Just go careful with what you use , there are plenty of reviews and video's on the SBC products if your unsure about a product :) x

My Canadian cousin had silicone sheets prescribed after an op to promote healing and reduce scarring. She said her scar itched like mad until she used the sheets. Her original doctor told her it was a sign of healing.

My maxillo-facial surgeon told me to pierce a vitamin E capsule and rub the oil into the scar, then seal it in with Vaseline. I followed his instructions and my scar is virtually invisible (fantastic when you consider the lower half of my face was hanging off!).

I've been using a tub of Vaseline cocoa butter up lately (re-discovered after initially not liking it), and found it highly moisturising. It sinks it quickly, but is cheap enough for you to wipe the excess off with a cloth if you overdo it before putting your socks on. SBC arnica gel has been a godsend regarding my pain, too. Really effective and quicker than waiting for pills to hit home. I don't use the soak as I can't get into a bath, but I do use it in a bowl to help my aching feet and legs.

Hope you find something soon.

I had a major op 18months ago and the surgeon recommended Palmer's cocoa butter formula. He said it softened the scar. I am still using it on the scar which has almost faded to the thin white line he said it would.

Some interesting advice from you all, thank you very much.
The dressing is off it's just the outline where the sticky was thats the bit getting to me. I can deal with the scar but hadn't given any thought on how to reduce the look of the scar so thank you.

I tell you I was drugged up to my eyeballs in hospital but by heck what an experience. I was assaulted during the middle of the night by an older lady who was obviously confused and started thumping me on my bad leg saying " fred I told you to get out of bed" although I felt sorry for her I felt more sorry for me because the pain got worse.

Another early morning all hell broke out when we heared " what do you mean you've lost your eye, have you rubbed it out in your sleep" the nurses were running around, the cleaners the same, the auxiliaries and basically everyone they could find were looking for this eye. Of course some of the staff kept coming to our side of the ward making eye jokes, or having to come around to laugh then get a straight face again. They got all the dirty laundry out went through all the bins.....it went on for over an hour. Someone then decided they better ring her husband to let him know and all we heard from the nurse was " what do you mean, it's in a box at the side of her bed, there isn't a box there, oh, you mean at home because she never had it in when she was addmitted" well the place erupted.
That was just on AAU, thankfully I had a room to myself when I eventually went for the op, done and discharged within 24 hours....all for me to have two falls at home the following morning.

It was an experience lets put it that way.:)

I actually need to get some arnica gel I think. I dropped a very heavy teracotta plant pot on my foot (it was filled with earth and must weigh about 25kg) when I was moving my sunflowers. My big toe is basically all bruised and there was blood seeping out from under the nail. Now it's a blackish purple :-( I'm just lucky I didn't break it.
