Not only does that watch have to be one of the most garish and in bad taste pieces of jewellery around it's also a monumental ripoff. I bet the actual watch is a load of crap!

i'm inclined to say that I don't think it was, but I'm hardly the fountain of knowledge on either haha.
to my eye, I don't think there was anything ''wrong'' with the diamond, but i'm just shocked that anyone would pay two grand for anything on a shopping channel. any channel.

I'm surprised I remember it was a diamond. I recall it being a large diamond but that's about it. She did say clarity a few times as I recall chuckling at how it sounds when she says it.
They often (particularly Russell) mention clarity and colour but without any discernible qualification as to the clarity and colour of the actual piece on sale. I honestly find it inexplicable that anyone would spend £500 let alone £2000 on a diamond without that information but as they say you pays your money...............
Then again Russell talks at great length about completely unrelated and extremely expensive Black Opals when selling Triplet Opals. I cannot possibly think why :wink:

yeah I was more surprised someone shelled out that amount for something on tv, regardless of quality or what was or wasn't said... I personally would like to have the ring infront of me first, for even a quarter of that amount.
but maybe that's the way the world is going and i'm just behind the times.
Some of the forum members have said you can get hold of very high quality pieces on the jewellery channels but unlike Bid I understand they give you full details about the stones.

that's fair enough, as I've said many a time I know nothing about most of the specialist items, so I'm not surprised to find that my initial thoughts are flat out wrong lol

As little as I know, I like to think they were never, now or ever.... worth anything other than a mark up to the shopping channel.
I think if you stick to that notion then you won't got far wrong Mr T!

Well then it's just as well Lisa Brash cannot stress more (in fact endlessly) that you should never buy a Kinkade as an investment but purely because you love it.
Anyone might be forgiven for thinking she is inadvertently attempting to plant a seed in the viewers minds, personally i'd never think that. :happy:

Well I suppose there might well be an element of truth in that Mr Tom. However, how Perfume Pete could possibly say he would (personally) ask an independent jeweller to give him a valuation on a £7.99 string (and I really do mean string) of pearls for insurance purposes is one of the more ludicrous examples of this rather grubby sales tactic.
The P+P cost exactly the same as the item cost, imagine mentioning that little fact to the jeweller?
