Shyster Sherlock just said 'Opium is a fragrance that is rarely discounted'.

Well it certainly wasn't discounted on Bid. They honestly just charged more (£57.98 delivered) for a 50ml EDT than Boots charge delivered, or John Lewis charge for a 50ml Eau De Parfum, delivered!

He is really bugging me with his utter ********!

i was watching it/him with a mate who has never seen sherlock.

He was gobsmacked at the (high) costs and amount of opinion passed off as fact

He just said Eau de Rochas is (in his opinion) the greatest fresh fragrance ever made. Let's see if it is next week. Sod that, let's see if it is in an hour.

They just sold YSL Cinema 50ml EDP for £37.98 delivered, he said it's the bargain of the week. John Lewis £35.30 delivered.

He can stick his bargains.

If they are clearance prices I dread to think what their usual prices are.

Considering Sherlock is a fragrance expert he dosen't seem very clued up on prices, even in the major stores.

Then again, being a perfumer himself he probably gets loads sent to him for nothing. Maybe he has a hotline to Paris? (including Versailles). By the way, we still haven't found that perfume!

Peter Simon has got an Arthur Daley coat on. How apt.:mysmilie_59:

Sherlock says he can't stress how giant the brands are.

Yes -he's wearing a jacket with a black velvet collar. It takes real talent to find a tie that clashes as badly with the rest of the outfit as the pale blue monstrosity he's sporting tonight.
Now he's describing a cheap baggy fleece as a 'real fashionista item'.

I do think it is amusing that they sold a bracelet earlier that was 24carrot plated and (as my mate called her) ''frumpy mcheadtilt'' was saying can you imagine what your partner would say if this was in her stocking...

I imagine i'd be homeless soon after..

I turned it over Aqua when I saw Sherlock was on again. To be honest I'm tired of listening to his stories about the great perfume houses and how hard it is for a discount channel to get hold of them only for the prices to be even higher than department stores let alone the likes of Allbeauty.com and other online retailers.

He and they are completely full of ....... :mysmilie_51:

Well this is very interesting, I go along with Bid Up Side Down's observation of 200 pages on one thread - that is good going!
I actually haven't watched much of fragrance week, I don't buy it or know much about it but I've found it absolutely astounding to learn that some of these fragrances (even some well known branded ones) can be obtained cheaper via other outlets - I had no idea and I'll be completely honest, I would have believed that, because it was a discount shopping channel, I was getting a bargain compared to elsewhere (I know, I know, I sound really naive and stupid! :taphead:)

Perfume Pete has been in training he keeps doing the little dance dirty Pete does and the groaning/moaning noise when the price comes in its quite extraaaaaaaaaaaodddinnnnnnnnnnnarrrrrrrryyyyyyy

Peter Simon: You have got PRRRAAAAAADDDDDDAAAAA for TWEEEEEENNNTYYY..........NINEEE..................NINTYYYYYYYY..................NINEEEEEEE............+ your usual charges
Peter Sherlock: OH Who cares

James: Its black Friday, final 5, I have 5 envelopes not only in the card but the black card with the single fold, not only with the ink from a biro of a pen and the bluer of the pens, not only with writing on the inside and writing forged on the paper, forged with the hand of a gentleman in noble form, in moonlight of an afternoon in London as the light twinkled from a single star of ancient roman decent of a beautiful morn and the sorrowful tear of a young orphan boy

(Cuts to Peter in the dark area of the studio with a big grin)

James then finishes his preview by saying I will see you in a few minutes after Peter Simon has brutally murdered me

The wonderful James Russell and he is
Peter then sells some towels saying we have got 4 towels they are in racing green and the green is the colour that is easy on the eye, not only is green that just warms and delights, but because they are 50 by 80 cm one nestles ones hand against the fabric of the cotton that underlies the very raft and the weave and desires one strokes it and embodies not only the feeling of the absorption of the water, one has the richness and texture to just laze and luxuriate on a bathroom that really gives you the decadence

(cuts to James in the dark area of the studio nearly wetting himself)

Peter: Ohhhhhhh yesssssssss, James: You've still got it

Peter: They are going under a tenner delicious

finally at 10pm James simply said...that was just 3 and a half hours of bliss my friends

I thought some of you might want to see it for yourself thanks to jeffrey44 who has put it on youtube, enjoy, delicious

In fairness I doubt they make anywhere near as much on the likes of YSL (despite selling it over the odds) as they do on their Southend and UAE lines. They are almost certainly far, far more lucrative. They will quite likely be in profit with just the p+p alone with them.

I'd love to know why it costs £7.99 in p&p for those packets of beads....

Indeed. I was thinking much the same Mr Tom!

Something I noticed tonight was that all the Elizabeth Grant products that Bid sell seems to have old branding. The items on Ideal World tonight are in completely different packaging and have different logos. I wonder if that's how they can flog it much cheaper?
