Wonder how some of these Shop Extra folk are feeling about the corpse of Ideal World being reanimated. Did they sell their soul to the right channel?

Remember it's one big family though.

Maybe they don't want to be involved with TJC or maybe TJC didn't want them. Although if TJC are going to have the channel showing live shows from crack of dawn till late then they will need a fair supply of presenters and pretendy experts.

It can't be good news for the chances of shop extra really, TJC are now a bigger force put it this way if TJC had just bought Ideal World a few years ago and taken over the company shop extra would not have started

Nope, definitely not good news, kinda stifles any hope of expanding into a bigger channel.

TJC were already a big player (money wise), revenue wise, QVC, IW and TJC were the big 3. TJC wouldn't have bought Ideal World or it's predecessor Ideal Shopping Direct, the latter had way to much debt for TJC to handle, and the New Ideal World was too new with little assets, and losing money from day one. They've done the sensible thing, although why they would want the IW name is beyond me, they've waited for IW mark 2, to go into admin, seen a gap in the market to exploit and acquired the IW tradename, cameras etc and a web site to start a new channel with, and if they have the IW web site running as before then we can look forward to the check out your baskets every five seconds again.

Where does the resurrection of Ideal World leave this brave new world of Friendship, Family and Fun? Did the fantastic four leave the sinking ship too early? Did Captain Crawley-Smith not see this horrific situation from the SS Shop Extra bridge. Why did Second Officer Ryanlightoller not spot the retail iceberg with his QVC Sunagor binoculars? Will the Empress TJC set sail to save the Shop Extra’s in peril crew and shopping elderly passengers like Mrs. Robinson, aged 70, from Cockermouth, stuck in Second Class about to be attacked by piranhas? What a nautical mess..

I can't imagine there wasn't some whispers on the grapevine this was happening, so those at Shop extra have probably known about it. Assuming the new channel will be based at TJC's existing studios then maybe those at shop extra didn't want to move South to London. The Shop Extra is in Peterborough like IW was so they may have wanted to stay put.

If Shop Extra closes, will those who have paid the £10 a year for the club, be able to get some discount back from Hochanda or will they say well you can still get the 10% from our crafting

Reading through the Term & Conditions for the Club & Freedom memberships, there is no mention of Shop Extra, even in the video promo it's only Create and Craft that is mentioned, so in effect you're only a Create & Craft club member, and as create and craft still exists it would look like there is no come back. The only time they will give a refund is if you cancel membership within the first 14 days, outside of that no dice refund wise.

Weighted blankets with the Man from the Gimp Room. Buy a blanket for a cuddle instead of one from a friend, he tells us. Just the sort of you’re a sad bas..pitch to encourage you to buy.
