Yeah i know, don't want to get blacklisted on first night. :ROFLMAO:

At the moment, there's not much to pick them up on, i'm waiting till they feel comfortable then the gloves will be off. ;) Just now it's mostly Kevski exaggerating/over egging some features...
One thing he said, "titanium is the most inert material on Earth" about a watch.

That jumped out at me, and a search didn't agree, with gold, and the halon gases listed. It said titanium does react slightly with oxygen.
So where does he get this stuff?

Also, noticed how the presenters generally when talking at maximum speed are 'random talking', filling airtime with verbal diarrhoea, probably with the studio gallery talkback in their ear and so make exaggerations out of habit. Hayley describing the drone as 'i've never ever seen a drone at this low price'. It was Ā£140+. They mis-speak talking rapidly whether intentional or not.

Greasy capons, the lot of them. I remember several of them including Lemonade One using the local garden centre analogy when they were comparing like probably with unlike during the rotten relentless reoccurring repetitive rattan furniture selling. ā€œWould definitely be Ā£1000 plus at our local garden centre to here,ā€ sheā€™d say. For identical specification and quality? Of course, that was never gone into. At the time, I did browse a couple of local garden centres online to the studio location. From what I saw, her claim was unsubstantiated at best, incorrect at worst. And for me, that summed the station up in its final years - grand unproven and generally unsubstantiated claims, usually about the value of goods, or making gushing comparisons price wise, hugely favourable to themselves with unnamed competitors. The only time you would see actual screen evidence of direct price comparison was when they were showing more commonly sold ā€˜brandedā€™ goods at their cheaper price overall. Of course, you didnā€™t see any of the screen evidence of some of the watches sold with outrageously high recommended retail prices being sold at those prices by their competitors. Probably because there werenā€™t any.

All good points and observations from everybody.

My theory is this is a trial by the former IW & current C&C owners to resurrect their old shopping channel, that they had to sell, before putting it on its own channel.

Don't see why they'd risk the 'successful' C&C channel by making it secondary after all this time.

More likely to reallocate Craft Extra (which is a 24/7 repeat C&C channel) to Shop Extra. On satellite/cable & online.

And if they can get a cheap Freeview channel, for example the now defunct former IW channel, that would make sense too.

When it was first announced, I did wonder if it was a temporary thing to go up to Christmas, and then do a rethink

How on earth can they charge Ā£4-95 PP to join this??????

As far as I can see, you are just buying a membership, no need for any paperwork at all, but even if there was, it should not cost more than a 2nd class stamp!

So Peter V is back at the weekend, and Hayley Sparkes Is back as the beauty expert
Of course he's back. They'll be flogging the radiators soon and need someone to point the temp gun at the ceramic cores (that maintain heat even more so thanks to being in a warm tv studio) and to squeeze the genuine bonded leather sofas in a 1970's porn-esque way ;)

I watched some of the launch (not live) on YT last night and all joking aside, it made my skin crawl. Not just the 1990's style intro thingy with them 'getting the call' but watching the smiling smug-fest when they entered the studio, the hugs etc etc. I get they're a business, a selly telly sales business at that, however this driving home of the 'family, friendship, fun' mantra is laughable and not in a fun way.

And we go back to the Ideal World launch party of 2000, was it? The back slapping, the grinning, the poor choice of first night goods (the car was never sold by them). It sounds like Ryan (who was at the original one) would have felt very at home with what apparently last nightā€™s one was. The one saving grace I thought would happen would be, they would start a new shopping channel with a new set of people.. Not as it appears to be now, with the very same people, presenter wise, and in demonstrator terms - most of whom were participating in that grubby set of selling tactics during the final week of Exemplar Planet.

It was all so amateur and as expected absolutely no imagine from any of the old new old but new presenters, Even the old man of time Kevster mentioned "Flexi pay":ROFLMAO: back to the IW days and as the saying goes old habits die hard, alas Den's bestie was not being funny and on hand to correct Kev on his IW slip up......Its all so Ideal Shop World Extra

Is he even capable of sentient humour? Paul Lavers was a genuinely funny guy who saw how ridiculous it all was. Back in the very early days of the channel, when they encouraged people to fax in (that tells you how long ago it actually was), to pass the time, I sent one during the collectible aircraft show with Paul and dear old Harry Dashbourne. Calling myself Mike Hunt (or something equally ridiculous) I think I said words to the effect of ā€™ Lovely to see a pair of old Fokkers back on the show..can we have more old Fokkers in general on Ideal World in the future? He read it out with a wink (WINK)..and you knew he knew I was taking the pistolaā€¦Great bloke, and much missed from shopping telly.
