I couldn’t have a smart meter with my old tariff as they didn’t make them. I know have one and for me being disabled it’s a godsend as I don’t have to get someone to read my meter anymore.

Think they tried to expand each time IW went bust and the resulting investments on both occasions was too much for them to bear. Ist IW demise they bought C & C while IW were trying to raise money to stay afloat, 2nd IW demise was the Shop Extra debacle, each time they went into debt to make those changes happen and I fear it was just too much. The fact that Kay & Wright last year was a signal things were bad.

Our chippy is 19.80 for 2 large cod and one large chips to share. The Chinese is across the road and depending on what you want, can work out cheaper and last longer cos of there's too much you can reheat Chinese but not fish and chips.
I thought exactly the same. I think I paid £40 for mine from the old IW and got a free slow cooker with it. Halogen oven lasted a couple of years and I did use it most days. Slow cooker still working but gave it to a friend as it became too heavy for me to lift. Too big really for 1 person but great for a family. Bought a small one which is much better for me.
