My life Seems so naff up to everybody on here

As the saying goes the grass is always greener.

Sometimes other peoples lives may look nice from the outside, but reality can be way different.

Edit - A lot of people will never discuss or mention the bad things in their life, just the nice things like trips away or nice meals out, so its skews things.

I spend most of my time at home, Emma. I go out to lunch once every three weeks with friends, the rest of the time is hospital appointments. We like to visit London every December to go to a concert, but apart from that, I'm at home. I've got to a stage in my life where I can't be bothered getting ready to go out now. I can drive, but I haven't been out in the car for a couple of months, I just don't like driving anymore.

Yes, Penhaligon's is very expensive. Their perfumes can be £150, I had a small bottle years go and I think it cost around £60 but it was beautiful.

I had afternoon tea at The Ritz years ago and they had Floris, there's a shop in Jermyn Street very close to it. Floris is a very old brand and a beautiful shop. Ots cheaper than Penhaligon's.

And if I need to spend a penny around Piccadilly I go to Fortnum and Mason, very posh loos, the soap and hand creams are their own brand so very nice🙂
I used to treat my mum to a bottle of Floris’ Lily of the Valley perfume occasionally back n the 70s. I loved it too but sadly it’s been discontinued. We both liked Bronnley Rose Geranium too again long gone.

I rarely go out apart to dentist, doctor, opticians plus hairdressers once every 6 weeks. Don’t drive and public transport is dire so go everywhere by taxi which is expensive. I’m quite fortunate that I have lots of hobbies. Thank goodness for the internet for keeping n touch with friends and family and for home shopping.

Apart from work and the odd few days away I would not go far from the house only to go shopping.

Can't remember the last time I went out for a meal or had a takeaway, little point just for me.

I sometimes go through the entire year without taking one day of annual leave. Holidays solo are not much fun, only go away now if my sister arranges something and invites me to join them for a day or three. From 2016 to 2023 I don't even think I left the town where I live, even for a few hours.

If I’m in the company of Pehaligon’s ‘Terrible Teddy’ fragrance, I can’t be held responsible for my actions. It’s addictive to me! 😍

That’s very true, Wanderer. Don’t be too hard on yourself, @EmmaP x

We're staying at the Sloane Square Hotel in December, maybe they will have Baylis and Harding. 🤣🤣
I've just looked it up, the hotel is in a fabulous location. The square itself just outside the station always looks fantastic in winter, Christmas lights, pop up bars. They have similar events in summer.

I go to Sloane Square a lot for jazz shows at Cadogan Hall, they're very reasonably priced, sometimes as low as £20. And if you're going for your Royal Albert Hall Christmas show its not far away.

And you're on top of the King's Road too which is well posh😊
