I was looking in a jeweller's window when I saw a sign saying "Some day, all watches will be like this"....... times were changing, tech was changing, for so long mechanical watches had dominated ...... then quartz revolution started .....
It was a SEIKO quartz ANALOGUE watch (with hands); there had prviously been digital quartz watches. It was probably the early 1970's and I was into tech and new gadgets even then, so I bought one. I was probably one of the first people to get this new technology.
It lasted many years, then I cracked the glass so replaced it with their latest model (I still have both of them).
These days I still use an analogue quartz watch, but now it is solar powered so never needs batteries, and is radio controlled, so it is extremely accurate. BTW it also has a small digital display for the date etc.
