Using your mobile as a satnav will be against the law shortly, Q need to update their link and spiel when selling the sticky ring phone holder.

Blimey, here is me thinking that this is just an 'entertainment' forum, when no someone comes along and gives 'public information', thanks for that @love, I had no idea, that was the case, will have to tell my Dad, as he sometimes uses it if the main Sat-Nav is having a 'electronic strop'! (or just needs re-charging!)
 
my daughters uses their i phones phones as sat nav but they have a holder for this purpose.

Yes, I have a VW Up which has an inbuilt holder for my phone and a dedicated VW app, I assume it's still ok to use in that way as it's no different to how you'd use an actual satnav device.
